Bouchard Aîné & Fils Rully Blanc

Vinification and élévage in barrique, 15% new oak, weekly batônnage. Quite a luxurious treatment for a wine that sells for Euro 6.95 excluding VAT (wholesale). Limpid straw yellow; lovely ripe citrus fruit, hint of coconut, cool minerality, ripe but fresh acidity, slightly earthy as it should be but not rustic, well-integrated oak, clean, good flavour intensity, batônnage adding some gras; good length. Really well done.
