The tannins have stopped being a pain in the butt, leaving this wine to be a still youthful and rather powerful chap. It drinks a bit too well, caused me to refill my glass too often.

Som altid en fantastisk dejlig vin fra Gaja. Jeg er ikke blæst bagover, men nyder den. Den har skøn tørhed og balance super fint på syre. Måske det som den mangler er en smule friskhed

Rich blackcurrant — almost Ribena-like — and menthol, eucalyptus, mocha on the nose; immediately open and expressive; firm structure with well-developed tannins underneath a generous, ripe palate; long cassis finish.

wonderful blend of CabSauv, Merlot and CabFranc made with the cure of Angelo Gaja. Complex, seductive, fashinating and in the best drinking widonw with an array of scents ranging from underbrush and gentle leather with a balanced touch of wood and a wonderful hint of mint and spices. After a cold bike ride to Casatenovo and Monticello with rhe shadow of LK ahead

Very good showing, medium-bodied, had a significant licorice aspect which I love in some Tuscan wines - reminded me of Casanova di Neri Brunellos.

From Magnum: dark red color with brownish edges. Marvelous ripe nose. The palate is dominated by velvet texture and dark berries, round and silky. Medium to long finish with ripe tannins. At the end of peak drinking window.

Showing beautifully right now. Definitely recommend. Popped and poured and if possible would recommend at least a short decant. True Bdx blend of 50% merlot, 40% cabernet sauvignon and 10% cabernet franc with no native Italian varietals. Drink or hold - probably no further upside to holding but should hold well for an additional at least 3-5 years under proper cellaring conditions with no degradation. Soft and smooth, medium-full bodied, medium length aftertaste, very well integrated, no oak detectable, soft …

Aromas of black fruit. Tart, black cherry with warm wood flavors. Juicy acidic finish. Tannins are mild and a great platform for the fruit. Decanting smoothed some of the acid qualities. Loved the vibrancy of this wine.

dark red, black in the baloon. Enticing nose of dark ink and balanced oak, palate confirms red fruit basically blackberries and brackcurrant. Some bitter notes, jiucy and silky. Classy and elegant, in its best drinking window. Will not improve further so drink in in two years.

'Bordeaux' blend 2009 blind tasting (Ch Lagrange, Bin389, Don Melchior, Ca’Marcanda, Magari, Promis). 50% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Cabernet Franc. Still plenty of structure and very nice dark fruit but faded a bit in comparison with the others. Had actually guessed Promis here and Magari for the Promis, so currently no reason to pay extra for this at the current state. Perhaps just still too young.

Rubin red in the baloon with an intense nose of blackberries and other ripe red fruit. Needs some air to express. Consistent Intense palate with silky texture with notes of graphite, roasted coffee and some spices. Chocolate in the finish. Well craftet, very enjoyable and pleasant, but not definitively seductive. Last drops with PD

This is absolutely yummy. Dark cherries on the palate, rose petals and menthol notes on the nose. Hints of caramelized orange peel. Licorice and cocoa make it really juicy, silky tannins. This is the time to drink this wine. Long finish. My last bottle, I am desperate! What a great effort.

I find these Gaja table wines to have a strange behavior - they are a bit tight when opened, but really hit their stride with 30-60 minutes of air. They cruise along at a very high level for about 90 minutes or so, then they just die. At its peak, this is a very high quality Tuscan blend. But drink it up while it's at its peak. Five hours of air and it will startle you more than a 2AM …

So here's the deal, A well made blend which needs about 7 years of plenty and seven years of famine to begin to show its potential. Swish a bit of it in your mouth for about 30 seconds and then swallow it in small sips to experience the braised meat, wood ear mushrooms, maple, jerky and bark fronting the dark fruit. This wine is worth the price and will outlive its detractors. The nose is dead but once again, agitation …

This wine seems to have significantly more body and character than it did when younger. It is deep, dark and delicious and seems to have gained nuance. Don't know if I've ever marked a wine so much higher as it aged. 50+5+12+17+8=92

PnP and drank over an hour. Not as expressive on the nose as I remember but could be due to the lack of "air time". Medium bodied, good core of dark fruit, fine tannins and firm acidity. Everything you would want in a wine to go with a simple italian meal. Solid and well balanced. My only small negative is that the finish is on the shorter side. Good QPR.

Cheap steak night (New Ubin Seafood) : Decanted for an hour before drinking. Pleasant aromas of dark fruit and vanilla but somehow the wine felt a bit hollow compared to when I drank it earlier this year. Still well balanced with soft tannins but just felt a bit thin. Hopefully it is a one-off. Still maintain that the wine is ready to drink now and there is limited upside to holding.
