From magnum. Drinking beautifully. Great structure and the fruit is fresh and vibrant. Dark cassis, blackberry and mint with leather and earth on the finish. All in great balance and a long saturated finish.

Gorgeous ruby red color Perfumed floral nose (violets). Blueberries, red raspberry & currants, dark chocolate covered cheries with a touch of earthy herbal spice on the finish. Getting a touch of blue cheese as it opens up more. Drinks well rounded and balanced. Tame acidity. Blueberry and red fruit dominate with dark chocolate showing on the dry finish. Picking up a slight raw red meat element the more I consume.

mint, tobacco, black cherry, cassis, red plum, baking spice, licorice, tobacco, savory herbs, and bitter chocolate. Relatively smoothed out, missing a bit of intensity and richness i'm usually used to for TK fruit. Nonetheless good wine in a nice spot, doesn't need much air to get going

2010 Realm Cellars Beckstoffer to Kalon Vineyard is outstanding. Full of sweet aromas, fresh, soft, integrated tannins, a wonderful mouth feel, luscious drink, and long finish. Still drinking great.

I think we all individually like different things about wine. Some like hedonistic and some don't. This wine is more towards hedonistic and gets better with every sip. It is smooth with velvety tannins and good balance. Chocolate notes mix perfectly with the fruit. Overall great wine. I popped and poured because I didn't have the option to decant. I would think a 1 or 2 hour decant would be about perfect.

From magnum for Thanksgiving dinner. Opened 2 hours prior. Still young. Would have done better w a decant. Dark fruit, almost a dark chocolate note. Excellent!

A year and a half since my last bottle and it has really improved. Last night we drank it alongside a Insignia, an Audentia and a Catena Zapata all from the same vintage. All opened 6-7 hours in advance and tasted at the 4 hours mark. The group voted this as the number 1 wine of the night. The nose was dark berry and hints of chocolate. The palate was dark berry, dark plums, tobacco and again hints of chocolate. …

Slow ox'd for 5 hours and then decanted through a vinturi and let sit for 2 hours while we drank the PH Dr. Crane. The nose on this wine is unbelievable with dark fruit and mocha. The palate is dark fruit, plum, mocha, licorice and some smoke. The tannins are still tight so the finish is tight and grippy with the licorice (not my favorite fruit) coming through. My friend Michael and I both agree that I was probably guilty …

Realm : Earthy, ominous, and a bit gritty, the 2006 BTK was exhibiting a "Fistful of Dollars" profile of weathered, black soil, grating earth, and antique wood notes encompassing the mature, dark core fruit of black and red currant and black raspberry. The fruit flavors were decent, but the surrounding notes were just a bit abrasive and overly earth-driven for my preference. It had a somewhat old-world dinge to it. The tannins on the back end were a little crunchy, …

At Auberge Napa with Alejandra. Nice nose of boysenberry, menthol, pine needles, some dark chocolate undercooked cake. Youthful still. Needs decant/ time in glass. Nice texture. Still tight!?

Beautifully mature wine that has to be at its peak. This is the second 2006 vintage wine that has blown me away recently (the other was a Bressler cab). The combo of expressive red/black fruit, balance and layers was a treat. Needs a decent decant to soften and balance. Long finish that highlights tobacco and dark chocolate powder. Amazing

Wow! Poured a small taste before decanting, and I knew this was going to be something special. Drank this over the next several hours, and I almost wanted to cry. Deep and dark color, like a brick with some purplish ink mixed in. The aroma was powerful but balanced. Blackberry and leather early, followed by some earth. The wine was dry, grippy on the tongue. This helped the finish linger for several seconds. Flavors seemed to include currant and cherry, …

Tremendous depth w long finish. Worked from PnP and on through the evening. Finished it off over two nights. Started off with well integrated voluptuous fruit that went on and on. Night two reins that in a smidge. Young wine w many years in front of it.

PnP at home. This really needs a good, long decant. I didn't do that. Nonetheless, nice structured Napa cab, with nice nose and good fruit. By the 2nd glass, and over an hour this was getting better and better. I think in 5+ years it will hit its sweet spot.

Incredibly young still. Intense and intoxicating nose. Blackberry, Blueberry, cinnamon, baking spice, anise, just layers of flavor. Taste as good as it smells. paired beautifully with a rack of lamb. Big but well balanced and plenty of structure. Tannins are a bit chalky still at the back end. I think this would benefit from 5+ years. Enjoyed with Andrew, Amanda, Alan, Sophia, and Angel @ Cafe Juanita for my 35th.

Big, rich with deep, dark concentrated fruit. Wonderfully complex with notes of currant, dark chocolate and licorice. Believe this Cab has another 10-15 years in it and will only get better with more age.

Do bad wines ever come out of the To Kalon vineyard? This stuff was great and so, so easy to drink. Popped and poured, took maybe 20 minutes to come around fully but was pretty much ready to go from the start. Color: Dark core, with red to ruby edges Nose: Full of cherry, mocha-chocolate, some currant, toasty sweet oak Palate: Superbly made wine, silky comes to mind. This is a full bodied wine with very precise and pure flavors, …

This wine was one of the top three of the group. My personal notes are as follows: Dark ruby red in color showing great color intensity. This wine showed great black berry and cassis on the nose. Showing noticeable tannins, but the fruit flavors provided a good set of acid to keep it in check. This was one of my top three wines of the afternoon.
