Dark garnet colored, full bodied, nicely balanced and well integrated rich black berry and black cherry fruits with notes of smoked oak, anise, spices, hints of soy and dustiness with lively acidity on a smooth lingering finish. https://unwindwine.blogspot.com/2020/04/marco-diguilio-diamond-mtn-cabernet.html

That's it. All gone. During this run Bob Pecota shared one of these bottles with me in Philly at Matyson in around fall 2014. Not only was he impressed with the bottling but he had mentored Marco some years back. Really a great happenstance. Carmen, love of golf and wine pulled us together.

Fully mature. Deeper flavors of leather and tobacco now prevalent. Next day fruit with deep earth and mushroom.

This is a great wine. Better and better with age. Alas, my last bottle.

Perhaps one of the better Napa cabs I’ve consumed. I’m trying to understand Mr. Laube’s tasting notes and the 81 rating from 2005. I suggest he should have another sip today and he’ll find a wine that doesn’t even resemble his 2005 review. This is a full throttle cab from nose to finish, filling every crevice of my palate. I would venture to say there are few more years to go with this vintage.

Typical, but excellent, California Cab. Beautifully balanced and ready to drink. Tannins in a perfect place. Don't understand the WS rating.

Much better than the last bottle. Beautifully integrated tannins, and a great match for fantasy baseball draft in front of a computer and with a friend. Comparable: (I've got to choose one of my early draft choices -- Howie Kendrick).

Big. Nice tangy component early on. But just a heavy fruit bomb in the end. First glass was tasty. Not good with food though. High end of good.

Surprisingly young on the first night, with a perfect cork and no sediment. Excellent bouquet but so-so cabernet taste. Dark red fruits, pretty good tannins. By the second night, the wine was disjointed, alcohol, sweet fruit, and tannins all separate. Comparable: Rafael Furcal.

Very enjoyable Cali Cab at a great point in development. Literally singing from the glass in nose and palate. Fruit profile paired well with roasted duck.

My first ever MDG wine. Medium bodied, sweet black cherry, floral, anise, subtle black licorice accented by spice and a hint of eucalyptus on a smooth silky long, tannin laced finish. The next day, red fruit had given way to reveal the anise/licorice.

Aromas of rose petals, cherry and new oak. A complex midpalate with mixed dark fruits, white pepper and a hint of peppermint. Medium bodied tannins leave the finish slightly tannic. Still very young, would wait another 2-3 years before opening another bottle but it opens up reasonably quickly. The alcohol is a touch too high but does not throw off the balance much.
