To my tastes, Anrecht generally shows best early of the Selbach trio of this, Rotlay and Smith. Drinking well, not much aged flavor development, nor any petrol, but balanced, with stone fruits on the nose, and a perception of sweetness more akin to many modern Spatlese's

2nd of 3 bottles. PnP. Mid-weight, slightly sweet, nuanced rich flavors of butterscotch and toffee. Balanced. Excellent. A great match with spicy high quality Chinese food. (93-94).

One hour decant and then back in bottle for travel. Initial impressions: Light yellow. Intense aromas of dried fruit, flint, mineral. Medium bodied, delicious sweetness in mouth. This Auslese is delicious now, with upside for development in the bottle. My dinner companion, not a lover of sweet wines, would not drink this. The wine did not improve on day 2.

Apple juice and ripe peaches. For me, a bit more acidity would be welcome, but a pleasant glass all the same.

Floral/ripe fruit aromatics and the moderate alcohol is balanced well by ripe orchard fruit and zesty acidity. Sense of minerality. Moderate long length of finish. Relatively good quality for the price.

Pour le prix c'est vraiment beau. Nez sur les fleurs et la cire d'abeille. En bouche assez ample, le sucre résiduel est à peine perceptible, bel acidité. Saveurs de poires, de miel et de craie sur une finale longue et savoureuse.

A Rieslingfeier of our Own; 2/13/2017-2/18/2017 (Traben-Trarbach, Germany) : #30-16, 8% abv. After the rounder WS Auslese, the bright green acidic streak on this was all the more stark. The fruit veers towards a more tropical character -- though not as ripe and round. This is very fresh at the moment and this wine is just mouth-watering.

Oh man, this is spectacular. Such remarkably fresh, juicy fruit here - an array of flavours ranging from tarter apple and citrus fruits to riper, more exotic melon and faintly tropical notes, with light herbal and floral accents on the nose, and a vivid slate/stone mineral base beneath. Rather sweet now, but superbly balanced with bright acids keeping it very fresh and buffering the sweetness. Glad I have a few of these in the cellar.
