Tenuta Di Castellaro Bianco Pomice

Lovely. Very typical Sicilian white. Pear, almond paste, Mediterranean herbs, and minerals/slate. With shrimp crudo, grilled artichoke, arancini balls, brachiole, etc this was spot on.

No formal notes, but loved this. Excellent freshness, vibrancy but some depth, too. I had with a fried cod dish and it killed it.

The white wine of the night at a tasting where 13 wine lovers each shared wines. 60% Malvasia and 40% Carricante, both of which are famous for the quality of the white wines made in Sicily. As rich, caressing, and complex as top Chardonnays and bright and lively as top Sauvignon Blancs. Impressively concentrated and delicious.

excellent Mediterranean white - refreshing, excellent acidity, citrus, pear, acacia honey. It can handle a more substantial dish - perfect with mustard chicken, truffle potatoes, endive pear and bleu salad

Crisp and slightly round

Totally agree with @neurowine1 on this. Excellent stuff, in a year when there have been some astonishing bum steers from Garagiste (Kreydenweiss Riesling, anyone?). Really delivers for $20, and is very Chablis-like in its mellow apple and citrus notes, combined with a nice mineral edge. Very food friendly.

This is good stuff. Garagiste may not always get it right, but often times they do. Low EtOH and an interesting cepage of Malvasia delle Lipari 60%, Carricante 30% and other native vines 10%. Nice crisp mineral driven Med white that reminds a bit of a PC chablis with its stone and citrus. Great aperitif on the patio on a warm day.
