Château de Mercuès Cahors Cuvée Prestige 6666

Dark red/purple (almost pink at edges) Upon PnP, the nose is somewhat subtle of menthol and chewing tobacco, with floral notes throughout. Tannins are velvety smooth, and nicely balanced out with acidic backbone. Nicely grippy and youthful, and definitely drinking well now. Very little change after 2-3 hour decant, still bright.

Opaque dark red. Nose is all dark fruits, mint, and field herbs and heather. Strong and fine tannins right off the bat, some acidity but more in the background. Medium to full in body. I enjoyed this with a fatty burger. Enjoyable to drink now, but feels that it needs a couple of more years to come into its own.
