Just delicious out of the gates - youthful with few hints this is 15 years old. No formal note but was perfect with duck breasts with a peach-ginger sauce. Beautiful nose, decent persistence on the mid palate - the only problem is the bottle disappeared too quickly before the tannins really opened. No rush to drink and I will give my final bottle another five or so years

By far, the best showing for this wine yet. More savory now, still with a solid core of fruit, it’s showing clear signs of developing tertiary character. Medium-full in body with plenty of acidity and fine-grained tannins, it is well suited for service with red meat (in our case, venison tenderloin) and has clear N Rhone character.

Not much change from the last bottle. Still, resolved tannins and classic Syrah fruit, but it fails to wow me. If someone told me it was a top Crozes, I don’t think I’d disagree. I’ll let my remaining bottles sit gir Z should to see how they develop .

Brilliant fruit off the bat, super bright in the mouth. Soft savory tannin. Unfortunately there is an undercurrence of high tone VA that distracts. Unsure where this is going to go with further age.

Pure Syrah fruit, resolved tannins, modest acidity. Very pretty but primary. I'm not sure that this wine has the structure to age for another decade, so I'm unsure whether it'll ever develop much secondary character.

Deep ruby medium intensity aromas of black fruit (black berry, black cherry) violet, black pepper, and soft sanguine notes. Soft vanilla and cedar. Dried potpourri. Dry with medium ripe tannins and medium plus acid. Medium plus body and length. The tannins will continue to evolve and improve this very good wine for a decade or more.

Dark fruit, licorice, roasted meat developing with air. Not the most complex or deep example of Hermitage, but also doesn't bear the price tag of Chave. It'll almost certainly get better over the next decade.

Northern Rhone Bash at Ivan and Ronnie's house : very young. maraschino cherry, liqueur. bright mid, great acidity. dusty tannic structure that opens up a bit with time. floral and developing over the evening. i would say this showed pretty backward. the red and blue fruit is there. the structure too. but not all together just yet.

This has closed down like a brutal portcullis since tasting with George the Greek at his shop in Tain last March. Do NOT open this for at least 5 years, probably more. Very hard to coax anything out at this point. Day 3 this is just getting started to unwind with leather, paprika, chocolate (perplexing to me), some meatiness.
