Domaine / Maison Vincent Girardin Rully 1er Cru Les Cloux Blanc

Very lemony on the finish. Solid wine, if unspectacular. Solid QPR.

Nice golden straw color. Honey on the nose, with unctuous mouthfeel. Restrained oak. White fruits, tropical notes. Very nice.

Medium gold robe. Serving at cellar temperature (55 degrees, which, in my opinion, is perfect for this wine), the wine shows a very intense nose of honeysuckle, lavender and cardamom. Medium-bodied on the palate, with medium acidity and more weight than my impression from a couple of years ago. The flavors mirror the nose, with the addition of some very nice minerality. The middle palate is full and the medium-length finish is crisp. This is a very nice white Burgundy …

solid white Burgundy. Deep golden color. Nose is complex mix of fruit, mineral and oak notes, nicely balanced. More oaky than the Chartron tasted alongside.

Nice white wine for the price! Loads of fruit on the nose, rounded ripe and full palate with nice mineral finish, lacks a bit of acidity.

Pale, clear, light straw with tint of green. Grapefruit, lemon, and apricot on the nose, with hints of butter and vanilla. Unctuous mouthfeel, a bit acidic. Solid white flesh fruit on the palate, with good minerality.

Creamy (some malolatic fermentation was probably involved), floral, tropical fruits, and lemon. Some acidity.

Excellent golden color. Complex nose featuring apples, butter, melon, lemon. Palate is similar, with a little thinness on the finish. Has all the elements there, but lacks a unifying harmony. Ovearll, quite solid, but just this side of great.

Clear, pale golden straw color. Nose features green apples, pear, oak, minerality and butter. Palate features good crispness and acididty, with notes of lemon and a strong mineral accompaniment that leaves a bit of bitterness on the finish

Peaches and lemons and minerality. Medium finish, lush and enjoyable

Overall a solid white burgundy, with good light golden color, decent weight and flavors of peach, with mint and a streak of acidity. Drank too warm, so it was a bit flabby.

A Whirlwind Tour of France (Ross's Condo, New Orleans) : Tasting this after its little brother (the Vieilles Vignes Girardin Rully), there is a noticable difference. The toasty croissant and light apple/pear notes shine through wonderfully here, and the finish is divine, longer than that of the standard Rully, but again not long or interesting enough to make this wine a blockbuster. Wonderful juice here.

Pear and croissant notes, it is a round wine with an impressive weight and balance. Soft tannins and good acidity. Easy to drink now, let see how it developes.
