Open for an hour and a half. Bright red fruit mixed with leather, blood, earth and clay on the nose. Bright red stone fruit, underripe berries, very tart, underripe black cherry and strawberry greens. Medium plus acidity. Medium tannin. Bracing astringency on the end of the palate. This one needs 2-3 years to hit its plateau. 88-89.

There's some serious funk on the nose, with aromas of dirty diaper, blackberry, and currant. Not as intense on the palate, leading with blackberry and supported by hints of leather and currant. Medium acidity.

Blue and black berries with lots of cracked black pepper. Very ripe and slightly jammy, but still fresh, bright and powerful, all with reasonable balance. Great value wine.

Excellent example of a fruit forward Cotes du Rhone. Leads with blackberry, followed by spicy black pepper and an earthiness reminiscent of mushrooms. Gets dryer over time. A very good Cotes du Rhone from a quality producer A decent value at $18 at Specs in the Houston area

Very nice Syrah. Mouth filling fruit. Needed to wait a couple hours before the nose was fully formed. I was impatient.

Raspberry, blackberry, licorice and pepper. But it's quite overripe and hot and there seems a bit of a dip in the mid-palate. Not bad but a bit difficult to enjoy. Need a bit more balance.

Unoaked Grenache 65% and 14.5% alcohol. Modest nose but nice smooth taste. A well made classic Cote de Phone for a reasonable price ($18). Tasted at a tasting organized by Dionysus - the Houston importer. Cost is reduced by not aging in wood.

I enjoyed this tonight. Dark fruits, black pepper, meaty accents. Shows some restraint and elegance. Good acid but not as much as I noted in my last note. I'm looking forward to trying the last half of the bottle tomorrow.

Decanted for 1.5hrs which is recommended. Deep purple. Light legs with medium pace. Nose of black fruits and slight oak. Medium body with slight heat. Mild tannins and smooth taste. One of my favourites at this price (125HKD, £10)

This is a ridiculously good <$15 bottle of wine, with intense blackberry and plum aromas and flavors with robust black pepper and clove. Ok there is nothing subtle about this wine. But it's not just fun, it is also balanced. Prob even better a year from now as tannins soften a little.

Our 2nd bottle of this wine, and it seems to have lost a slight step. Decent wine for the price, just lacking in complexity and fruit. Don't hold onto these for long -- drink now, as the fruit is fading. So if you prefer spice, garrigue, and tannins -- this is your wine. If you don't, drink now!

It looks a beautiful dark and deep purple / almost black. It smells of blackcurrants and strawberries. It tastes very well balanced and smooth. It feels medium-full bodied. Pretty limited import. Beautiful funky Rhone-blend, concentrated and a bit high-toned compared with similar offerings. Nice raspberry, fig, pepper and garrigue, pomegranate, and rocks. Not as minerally or acidic as I would like. A bit flabby and this was really evident day 2. Day 2 we're talking syrup. Sweet and savory, medium-full bodied, purple. Very tasty. No oak at all on these wines.

Big colour, no sign of age, forward ripe fruity nose, robust but very well balanced & soft tanninc finish. Ready but would keep a while. This is a very attractive wine.

I can relate to the note from Brad L, because the first impression is that this is drying out. However, the initial dusty tannins one experiences are ephemeral, just masking the underlying dark purple fruit. With two hours of air time, it opened up quite nicely. This is at an awkward stage, however, and it should be better with a bit more time to allow the tannins to resolve.

I liked this better last year. Starting to dry out. Tannins forceful on end, fruit leaving. Still OK but I'd say drink up. CDRV on the Syrahish side, structured, not that giving.
