Why, oh why didn’t I buy more of this!! Fully tertiary now and wearing it effortlessly, heading for greatness. Calm, elegant, complex, and composed. Cedar, faded rose, cigar box. Everything in balance, nothing shouting. And then there’s The Magic. That quiet, undeniable element only those who drink wine purely for pleasure truly recognize. It doesn’t ask for attention. It earns it. On attack, silky and resolved, gliding rather than pushing. Mid-palate hums. Finish lingers with grace, not weight. A stunner. …

Quite lush notes of ripe blackberry (a bit jammy), chocolate, coffee, some leafy herbs and vanilla on the nose. On the palate, pretty similar - quite rich blackberry and dark cherry at first, then velvety plums, enlivened by a crisper, more floral finish. Still very much a Parker wine in 2012 (I think this was the last vintage he noted) and surprisingly ripe-tasting. Not bad - in the same lush style and slightly better than wines like Deyrem-Valentin - but …

On our BWE tour of Bordeaux just over ten years ago (18th May 2015 to be precise) we had a memorable tour and lunch at Ch. Du Tertre. One of the stand outs was the 2012 Du Tertre, and on my return home I purchased a case for £195 ib. I removed the case from storage last year, and this bottle was just singing and fully mature…well into its drinking window and I wonder if it ever closed down? The …

Last of six. Double decanted. This looks very mature, quite a brown garnet, but still a medium depth of colour. On opening a rich nose with tobacco, chestnut, a touch of cedar and dark plummy cherry fruit. Quite soft and gentle, juicy acidity little tannin and elegant fruit. An hour later floral and delightful. **** I wish I had kept the others this long.

What a pleasant surprise, didn’t expect this vintage from Tertre would deliver that much, incredible fragrance, concentration and elegance. Made from a blend of 55% CS, 27% Merlot, 11% CF and 7% PV, aged for 16 months in oak, 45% new. Perfumed intense aroma of cassis, prunes, earth, roasted herbs, tobacco, mushrooms, dried violet petals, mocha hints. Medium+ body, concentrated flavours with rustic touches, elegant silky texture, notes of earthy cassis and chocolate along fully integrated medium tannins. Singing now, …

Decanted but seemed to get more and more greener/ veggie as it got more air. Boarding on jalapeño. Too lean for me but interesting for sure. Well made just not my thing.

Toxic nose with lots of margaux violett, blueberry and some tertier flavors; solid mid palate balance and solid finish. At peak now, dont think it will improve further.

Has developer nicely in the last 1.5 years. There is more leather and tertiary notes coming trough. Fresh accidity and well integrated tannins

Enjoyed more than expected as there doesn't seem to be widespread enthusiasm for the 2012's. Developing some tertiary notes and there is fruit there indicative of a cooler year but I didn't find it green. No heavy-weight, but finishes well. Seems pretty much ready.

A forward bouquet of fragrant oak, ripe blackberries, sweet spices, tobacco and minerality. Palate echoed the nose. The oak influence is going strong on the palate. Good depth and extended mid-palate. Full-bodied structure with polished edges, followed by a velvety and lingering finish. Just need half an hour in the decanter for the aromatics to open up. Will continue to develop for the next 5 years.

Along with the classic Margaux smell of mocha, also a touch of green, make it quite pretty. Palate is light and fresh, classic, just opened and right in prime time drinking window I would say.

Eerder in 2018 gedronken, toen nog 'hoekig', nu zachter. Vereist wel stevig vlees, stevige saus. Heel goed, lekker, minder fluweel dan andere Margaux's

Very well an classic Bordeaux. Seema to have a fairly percentage of merlot for AOC Margaux. Fantastic smoothness and with 10years of age in the very right spot. I recommend to drink now or within 2 years.

In a nice spot now, reminds me more of a Loire Cab Franc than a crowd pleaser Bordeaux. Like it.

Slightly austere Margaux reflecting the vintage - nonetheless a pleasurable good value mouthful. Black berries and stone fruit with spices on the nose, mature but firm tannins wrapped with rich fruit, hints of tobacco and spice, good length

I’ve had various vintages of du Tertre - this one the youngest and it showed. Can’t tell where it’s going - it had a meaty Syrah taste which was unexpected and unwelcome. Will leave 5yrs+ before next.

Bordeaux 2012 en primeur with Winefinder (Munchenbryggeriet, Stockholm) : Somewhat unbalanced but a lot of sweet and spicy berries, and some structure. Some heat (13,5 % alcohol).
