Like others, might not be obvious at first taste as a Cabernet Franc. More like a Montepulciano with medium body and fruit, perhaps a lack of the tannins and structure you'd expect in a traditional Franc. Structure is now in decline. This wine drank better 2/3 years ago. Drink up now. I don't feel it'll get any better with age.

Pretty nice CF from Italy and nothing to add to my earlier lengthy prose.

At first, would never have picked this as a cab franc in a blind tasting. Nice dark colour after 10 years, very little bricking on the rim. Even after a couple hours open, the nose is pretty reserved, dark plum, just a whiff of tobacco, maybe a little green herbs/pepper. Palate is smooth and sweet with delicious ripe dark cherry and plum fruit, some currant and plum on the finish. With enough air this is truly a lovely wine, glad …

Purple and opaque. The nose is rich dark fruit with a little vanilla on the tail. A little more stewy than I'm accustom to from Cab Franc. The tannins are still robust and the mouth feel is still full and robust in spite the wine having nine summers on its side. Suspect that the wine may have had a fair bit of contact with its stems. Very nice but not exceptional. 5+12+16+8=91

Cabernet Franc is my favourite grape variety brought about, no doubt, because of m time in the Loire Valley many years ago. I can usually detect the presence of Cab Franc in blended wines, often the percentage. As a result I have bought 100% Cab Franc wines from a variety of places but I do not recall buying or tasting any from Italy. I do not usually write lengthy notes, or ones that talk about all the different tastes that …

Decanted for 1 hour. Pronounced strawberry notes, silky, a touch of oak. Beautifully executed. Memorable.
