Pascal & Mireille Renaud Pouilly-Fuissé Vers Cras

This has been open for a week and shows no signs of oxidation. Great stony minerality on the nose, with a touch of tropical fruit. Good acidity on the palate, rounded off with a touch of body. Grapefruit pith, a hint of pineapple, slate.

Notes pretty consistent with last time. Paired well with baked trout (with coriander, lemon and garlic). Showed a bit more citrus than last time and the body fit well with the fish. Good for the price.

Opened a few days ago. Good but not what I expected. Sour apple on the nose and a touch of minerality. On the palate, much more full bodied than I expected, and none of the intensely chalky minerality that is the style in this region that I really like. Good acidic backbone to keep things fresh.
