Warming plummy nose. Silky smooth and creamy with the lightest touch of grip. Mocha and black cherry on the mid palate with some drying cedar and eucalyptus on the finish.

It is a wine to drink in the near term. Nice pop and pour, good value for the money, a little disjointed and imbalanced, but worked fine with food, lacks structure to sustain the fruit.

While a little hot on the finish, this shows really nice deep and dark fruit on the nose and pretty balanced with nice acidity. Good blackberry and currant fruit. This would last for many more years. Great value for $10

I'd bet serious money against anyone, tasting blind, identifying this as a syrah and cab franc blend, but who cares; the wine has structure and body and is drinking quite well right now; mid-weight red with terrific QPR at $10, and by all means, drink up

Sweet plummy fruit with bits of cedar, pepper, and smoke. Not really my style, but really an impressive wine for the price, and for the fact that its been in my kitchen cupboard for a year. 87-88.

Red jammy fruit with excellent acidic balance and a good long mid palate with smoke, butter, and chocolate. Great wine for the money.

This showed much better than the bottle I opened late last year. The nose had great red/black fruit aromas, and they were consistent with the palate. There was also a little brett here that I didn't notice last time. Maybe by bottle last year was off, but it sure did taste better this time around.

Not as good as the last bottle, I think because we drank half the bottle without any food accompaniment. The shiraz and the cabernet franc seemed more separated and disjointed than before. It's rare that CF is appealing on its own. I need to wait a year or so to try this one again. I'm not as optimistic that the fruit will last a long time. Still...a very good bargain for a versatile food wine.

Good solid blend with the cabernet franc providing the structure and acidity, and the shiraz providing the fruit and spice. This should age nicely for a few years. Still retained the positive qualities two days after opening. Good value.

I like Cab Franc and I like Shiraz, but after this bottle, I don't think they are two great tastes that taste great together... The nose had a perfumed quality that I attributed to the Cab Franc as well as nice dark fruit aromas from the Shiraz. The palate had a lot of green tobacco/olive flavors and spice. Interesting wine. Displays good fruit character as well as floral aromas and some spice. The texture was medium to heavy with a medium finish. I think it is a food friendly wine with good acidic balance. Great value for the buck.

On the smoky, leathery, tobacco end of things rather than fruity. I enjoyed very much.

Nice for the price; dark purple, deep, slightly alcoholic nose. Cherry/oak palate with a slightly rough finish that smoothed out considerably overnight.
