Tasty and easy going, shows nice acidity, good structure, better energy. Tropical notes of jack fruit, melon, and lime. Pleasing.

Well made, notes below accurately reflect flavor profile. More minerality than you’d expect at this price, without actual complexity. A touch too much oak, but still really well done, and a food friendly chard to have on hand for backyard lobster boils, and clams casino. Not a refined or particularly elegant bottling, but also not too buttery or heavy handed. Great balance, at a great price. Drink before 2024.

Crisp with notes of banana, pineapple, vanilla. Good balance with subtle oak. Would buy again, especially for the price.

Full bodied and crisp. Nice notes of pineapple and lemon, with vanilla and mild oak. A good expression of the chardonnay grape. And a great price.

Talbott's 2019 Kali Hart Chardonnay is a light golden, fruit-forward wine that serves up an aromatic package of pineapple, banana, pear and peach, accented with notes of honeysuckle and crushed rocks. Medium-bodied, fresh and with well-integrated alcohol (listed as 14.6%), it delivers flavors in line with the aromas. There is a notable component of oak that, depending on one's preference, may be an attribute or a detriment. Solid on the middle palate and concluding with a crisp, medium-length finish, this …

Somme toute …

An excellent value to be found in this estate grown, Santa Lucia Highlands Chardonnay. The site lies just thirteen miles from Carmel Bay, along the northern edge of the valley—planted in 1982, in Corton-Charlemagne Chardonnay clone vines, it's a wine that delivers subtle, layered flavors of smokey baked yellow apples, figs, and lemon torte strike a precise balance between ripeness and lifted acidity. The core is deliciously creamy, a sensation that gradually subsides to a minerally finish. 14.5% ABV | …

Agree with 9/27 prior post. Monterey County Chard is not to everyone's style and this is a good example of that style; it is fruit-forward, grapefruit and pineapple, touch of oak, nearly full-bodied, good acidity for food pairing. Good Chard for the price, but if you are looking for unoaked, austere, this is not your style. Hate it when folks down-score when it is not their style, even if it is a good wine as is the case here.

Similar to previous two notes, except continues to soften, get more unctuous. Toasty vanilla lemon nose; soft, long fat finish. Hint of residual sugar? Appetizer wine. Good value for $14.

Avoiding the ongoing word battle about "Old World" vs "New World" and individual style. What I try to identify and describe is balance and completeness. This is one of those wines so balanced, it leaves the impression of sweetness even though it is totally dry. It is complete because almost every descriptive we have ever experienced in a Chardonnay is displayed to some extent. There is some spice, ginger and sandalwood with the orchard and citrus fruit. It drifts effortlessly …

We weren't actually in Monterey County when we drank this, but San Luis Obispo is pretty close. Pale gold, slightly oaky, slightly buttery, quite nicely balanced, good creamy mouthfeel. Good wine.

apple, pineapple and citrus aromas, fruit-forward, saturated with yellow peach, orange, guava and lemon tart flavors, good acid, good value, for the price this will appeal to those looking for a full blast of New World chardonnay fruit, yet this is not a heavily oaked wine or a creamy one, it maintains a crisp vibe, very nice, also it drinks well over a few days with the easy screw cap and being refigerated

I just got back from Hawaii this afternoon, and this wine takes me right back there! I'm getting lime-orange citrus, honeydew, and a hint of pineapple. Nice viscosity on the finish. I will order more of this.

This continues to be one of my favorite modestly-priced classic Cali chardonnays: light golden hue, unctuous buttery mouthfeel, moderate oak (unlike my other favorite in this class, J. Lohr Arroyo Secco), pineapple and caramel. Just ignore all those French fans who say they don't like this stuff!
