Nothing wrong but literally nothing desirable.

Agree with Asajoseph, this is certainly showing jammy/compote notes. It’s a bit thick and slippery for my liking, for this style. Less oak and ripeness would have been great. On deal ($29 AUD) good value. Full price not a chance. Based on this last bottle, I’m glad to be drinking now. It’s maturing quickly and does not have the structure to age gracefully.

Quite honestly, my hopes were actually not that high on this one. Worried the big brand might lead to a less-expressive wine. Shouldn’t have been concerned - this had a very typical, benchmark young Barolo nose, red fruit, Violet, raspberry, strawberry jam & cherry - floral & aromatic. Palate was fuller & rich, good acid, velvety & with the same bright red fruit palate from the nose, maybe turning very slightly darker into red plum & briarwood. Delicious - and …

Picked up on deal in Adelaide for $30. Better than expected. Oak noticeable on opening- choco cherry liquor aromas- but pretty subdued nose otherwise. On entry it’s still pretty fresh, especially so given its age. Wine is in balance. Some meaty complexity starting to come in to play. Acidity is medium plus. Medium length finish. For the money its good, buy I’d feel pretty burnt if I paid full totes for this one. It feels commercial and correct, it’s drinkable …
