Adequate. Drink now if you have it, but don’t serve it to good friends. A mother-in-Law wine.

88: A solid Merlot that has mellowed even more with age. Great purplish color. Very drinkable.

Who knows why... This bottle was great. Fully developed, rich body, full flavors, not at all old, not too big, and not too small. No sign of anything off, and just wish we had more in the cellar.

Good with food. Okay for a casual dinner with limited wine expectations. Paired nicely with grilled chicken on barbecue.

As with our last bottle, sadly this 2010 has gone off, oxy-flavored and perhaps a bit of cork as well. Was terrific in its youth, but now just good enough to add to a marinade.

Sadly, this one was badly corked. Disappointing, as we loved the last bottle we consumed.

Drinkable, but not a great wine. Pleasant, but a letdown from other Cameron Hughes wines we have.

This is one of the CH lots that lives up to its promise. Classic Rutherford, with just the right balance of Bordeaux grapes to deliver a tasty, incredible-QPR experience. Blind, I'd describe as a second-tier top of the line blend from Rutherford, and a likely price point of $60+. Beautiful dark purple-black color, rich aromas of black fruit and leather, with a rich mouthfeel and explosive flavors of blackberry, black cherry, cassis, baking spice and plum sauce, tinged with some …

Juicy ripe dark fruit, spice mocha and earth flavor with fine dusty tannins.

Black fruit, some spice. Great structure. Not your typical Merlot.

See prior notes. Really a great wine. Needs to breath just a bit - maybe 1/2 hour.

Dark ruby red, cherry, cassis, berry, cocoa, even a bit of smoke. Enjoyed by all.

Smoke, dark chocolate, olive, spice, earth, mushroom, medium heavy body, cocoa. Dark chocolate gets stronger as time goes by - really changed after being vacuvin sealed overnight. One of us thought the smoke aroma got stronger the longer it was in the glass.

This was disappointing. Right out of the bottle, my palate mainly sensed vegetal notes, probably due to pyrazines. (Some refer to this as "bell pepper.") Even after extended breathing, the fruit barely emerged. Did not finish the bottle.

Waited 1.5 yrs from first note, decanted 30 min, crisp ruby color, light cherry/spice nose, lighter mouthfeel than expected, medium length finish with some tannins and spice, tartness has subsided, solid easy-drinking Merlot for non-Cab friends, bumped up 4 pts to group avg.

Very drinkable -- gulpable, even -- if a little on the simple side. This showed bright red fruit and had a decent enough backbone to provide some structure, though there was a touch of heat on the relatively short finish. I would be a buyer again if I could find this closer to $10, but not at the $18 that I did pay.

Bright, fruity, elegant Merlot; soft mouthfeel and a smooth balance. Not much complexity.

Nice cab fruit on the nose, some black currant, pleasant dark fruit fairly light and quaffable. Ok party wine. Decent QPR

good QPR, but way more bite for a Merlot based blend than I expected. A good wine, but not a favorite of the many CH choices. I guess I perfer a bigger Cab or a smoother meritage...

Very pleasant drinker with blackberry, black cherry, California bay leaf notes. Good with meal but even better on its own. Nursed a glass after dinner. QPR is very good.

As has been noted this is a nice mid week drinker. Unique. Ripe cherry cough syrup, dry earth and smoked bacon. Would never have blindly figured out this was Merlot. Best guess would have been it was one of those everything thrown in but the kitchen sink red blends. And at $10, there's nothing wrong with that. Day two: Picked up a nice cinnamon spice note and the edginess was gone. Nice balance with a pleasant chalky texture.

Drank over 2 days. Cedar notes big time. Bright, good acidity for a napa blend. Medium length. Great wine for the price. I will buy more at 17 per bottle. Good to drink now but could use a year or two of cellaring.

Decanted 2 hrs, semi-transparent crimson color, light nose, medium mouthfeel, medium length finish, light tannins, don't like the late sourness, needs a couple years to mellow, will stick to CH Cabs.

Big for a Merlot. Young and little brash right now; needs 4-6 hours of decanting. Deep, dark and dense with aromas of black cherry, cassis, olive, and spice. Lush on the palate with layers of black fruit, hazelnut and cocoa. This wine shows incredible structure for a Merlot and will benefit from a long decant for drinking now or could even be cellared. Mostly Merlot with a touch of hillside Napa Cabernet Sauvignon.
