Opened this bottle tonight. Started with a small taste upon opening, which was ok. I poured it into a decanter and let it sit for an hour and half or a bit more. Then shared it with friends, the comments were unanimously very good. It was probably the smoothest Brunello I have tried, albeit the oldest. I can only wish that I had more than one bottle of this small production.

Interesting to taste this wine for the first time in 7 years. I was over the moon about it after release but then it started closing down and maybe even falling apart. Well, well, well. This one actually can age. Not worth its original price tag and too modern for my taste, though, and the tannins are not completely integrated in the wine. But solid and very drinkable none the less.

Quite disappointing, this. Lovely aromas of roses, dark cherries, leather and liquorice, but also a very hot note of baked plum. VERY oaky, VERY "modern", and seems to be lacking in energy, nerve and freshness. Not very brunello-like and - although an objectively good wine - a disappointing experience, considering the price tag and the relative hype from other (very skilled) tasters.

Starting to close down now, but what an outstanding concentration this wine has.
