Bought one after tasting it at the fair in April, Coravin tasted to show it at an event ... not sure I will The wine has closed a lot from previous tasting, with discreet notes on the nose of smoke and ash ... Palate is zesty and fresh, but again not showing much at this stage, underwhelming with long finish and a bit of tannins in the end ... gotta hide it for a while

Vinitaly Report As much as I can remembre as I lots my notebook in the fair ... but that wine was one of the highlights of the event, with deep concentration, lots of "sulfuric" compounds but giving saltiness, smokiness, and depth on the nose, ashy and mineral The palate is insanely long and complex, with notes of marine salt, and oyster shell, it s barely fruity or flowery but it is great long and straight finish It is a 95 …

Benanti Pietramarina masterclass. Slightly corked. Muted fruit, some blossom, flint notes.

Do not fully trust all the drinking widows present here which were telling to drink this wine by 2014. I opened the bottle on Saturday, decanted for 2 hrs and it is a real masterpoiece. No trace of oxidation, wax and wild honey in the nose, mid dark colour plus still lots of minerality which is a benchmark here. Beautiful salty finish. Great wine!!

Old but vigorous and fresh! Light, honey hints in the nose as weel as resin ones. However, on the palate very fresh like it would not be 12 years old. Nice long finish and still very fresh. One of the wines that rewards long keeping in bottle

Dorato. Al naso idrocarburi, albicocca, miele, ginestra, glicine, acqua di rose, cedro, pepe bianco. Fresco, intenso, ricco in bocca. Chiude citrino

Helder licht tot strogeel. Geparfumeerde neus, lavendel, sinaasappel. In de smaak stevige zuren, granny smith. Te oud?

Lesser Italian White Varietals (Duchman Family Winery Driftwood, Texas) : Choose your gum: spearmint, juicy fruit, wintergreen. When the wine calmed down, we could smell honeysuckle and gardinia and taste flavors of leche, citrus, lime pulp. It had high acid and was almost chewy. Went well with our (rich) shrimp pasta salad.

Yellow with some golden hues. Iodine notes in the nose, followed by pear, acacia, saffron. Very mineral in the mouth, with strong acidity and citrus and hazelnut notes in the finish. This is still very, very young. In a blind tasting I would have said "Vouvray".

Light, clear yellow. Nuts, stale bread crust nose, softened by some florality. Mineral palate, dry throughout but with bright finish. Right now, not showing the breed this is supposed to possess.

A very impressive white wine from Sicily. Crisp and mineral. Long aftertaste.
