Domaine Monpertuis (Paul Jeune) Gard Cépage Counoise

Medium red. Coconut, chocolate and cherry. Sweet flavours a bit of acid but no real tannin.

Much better than I apparently thought in the tasting note recorded in Feb. Leathery, heathery, a little bit of cinnamon and chocolate, plenty thick. Have to think a little more time would do no harm. Great stuff for the price (around $10).

$13.99 full retail. This was impressive stuff. Old-school style, spicy black fruit, cola, some earth. Broad flavors, with good acidity. Excellent value.

Very nice light wine with leathery aromas and cherry cola flavors. Mild tannins but well balanced with light, juicy fruit flavors. ~$10; very good value. Would be careful in having this with food as it could be easily overpowered but very very drinkable on its own. Great weeknight wine.

Dark red, with rich funky berry aromas, and herb and garrigue in the mouth. A true taste of the south.
