Super acidic and notable alcohol on open but with an hour of air these dissipated and revealed lobely pretty aromas of melon and peach. Nice smooth mouthfeel, fairly short finish.

Nice, smooth. I agree with melon. A bit less apple and acid than I would want for fish, but will still pair nicely. Went well with scallops.

2023 Alphonse Mellot Sancerre La Moussière - It has a bright yellow color. The nose is very intense, with a white flower jumping right out from the bowl rim. The taste is intense and ripe white stone fruit, mingling with a lot of delicate white flower. There’s also a sweet citrus taste, with a very satisfying minerality at the back of the palate. The finish is quite long and lively, with a fruit-forward character.

I found this Sancerre at Costco at a great price and after reading the superlative reviews I bought four bottles. I was disappointed with the first one. The wine was lacking acidity and, as a dinner guest said, "it tastes flat." Yes, there was nice fruit and the wine was well balanced, but there was just no zip to it, none of the tangy minerality that I have come to enjoy from a good bottle of Sancerre, especially from the …
