At Retired Guys Lunch at BLVD Cafe with DD, JV and MA. Really, really good and a nice change in style from leaner Chablis. Intense nose and palate on a rounder style of Chablis. White fruits, iodine and lots of sea spray. I have to buy more of these guys’ wines!

Best day two. It"s powerful and oak dominated and needs some years. Opened bottle easily holds one week or more without loosing tension!

So oaky and fairly ripe, reflecting the warm vintage + the overly old school Droin approach. There are much better representations of what comes out of Chablis these days, quite frankly.

Mid-Week Pick Me Up (Young Joni, NE Mpls) : Liught gold color. Drank a couple glasses over 90 minutes. There's plenty of oyster shell on the nose, sleek, parafin, white fruits, fresh on the nose. The palate shows slate, white fruit, dried apple, briny and supple. There was a subtle bit of oak initially which seemed to slip away quickly. 92+pts.

Still the oak comes through a bit too much for my taste so I serve it quite cold. The acidity balances the prominent tropical fruits well and also adds wellneened freshness to the oak. I had it the first time jan 2022 and really liked it. According to Benoit Droin you must not drink this wine at 7 years of age as it closes down and optimal is at least 12-15 years age. Decanted and drank over 4 nights. A savory Chablis with good acidity - my style - as the piercing Chablis acidity is there but balanced out by a more succulent white burg bottom. Perfect with antipasto pasta salad or arancini.

1 time i karaffel. Sitrus, eple, melon, smør, flint, yoghurt, kritt og salt sjøsprøyt. Lett korpulent i munnen, med frukt på den gule siden og medium minus syre. Sentralburgundersk fedme med sjøsprøyt. Topp til skatevinger med kapers og hollandaise.

After first sips followed Claymonster's lead and decanted to soften up the acidity and further open up this coiled Chablis. With air and time in the glass this showed a nice array of seashore aromas coupled with citrusy salinity, stone fruit & signature minerally flavors. Still youthfully reluctant points to drinking my second btl at least 3yrs down the road for the ultimate experience.

Thanksgiving Week 2023; 11/19/2023-11/24/2023 : Our selection. Decanted one hour, served chilled before dinner. Pale straw color. Amazing nose that kept giving off different aromas with every sniff. Lemon curd, florals, baked pears, wet rocks, fresh cut grass, sea breeze. On the palate it has medium body and plenty of acidity. Saline and slightly bitter. A wonderfully complex, ageable, and delicious wine. Fantastic value at around $45. Would love to try this in 5-10 years.

Exiting nose with green apple, touch of melon, some smoke and flint. Intense and weighty palate, thats fresh and oily with a lot of lemon and also fine acidity. A pretty long finish, but also a little to much bitterness today. But really great.

Lemon zest, orange oil, nettle, and white flowers on the nose. Borderline medium-bodied with citrus and unripe pineapple flavors. Searing acidity leads to a finish of citrus peel and crushed rock. More ready on the palate then the '20 Vaillons but could also use time in the cellar (90-93pts).
