FS22. Caramel, citrus, raspberry, chalk. Nice texture. Felt the concentration could be better.

Chalky and savory rendition, like a fresh strawberry soup. Easy to drink. 93

An Evening of Chambolle-Musigny; 5/17/2025-5/18/2025 (Dubai, United Arab Emirates) : Surprisingly different to the last bottle that I had of this champagne. Maybe it underwhelmed compared to the Cedric Bouchard served next to it, but this also felt like it had less of the tartness and bruised fruit quality this time around. Still very distinctive as far as champagnes go, and obviously so young and so tight today. Slightly less impressed, and reflected in the score, but still a big …

Romanée Conti Dinner (Freiheit Vinothek, Ulm, Germany) : Was seriously impressed with this champagne, even though it really needs a year or two to dial down some of the surplus energy (though fully appreciate others might go in for that). Flesh pink, a great representation of the oxidative style without going over the top. Acidity provides bite without descending fully into a 'crunchy' style either, have be impressed by the balance. A serious champagne, worthy of your buying attention.

London wines; 4/7/2025-4/9/2025 : Remarkably open-knit compared to the more structured 2020 and 2012 that I tried previously. Lifted, floral nose with remarkably pure and pretty raspberry fruit on the palate. Saline and seamless, this was an impeccably balanced champagne. So good that I could not resist getting another glass, one of the best champagnes that I have tasted.

LC 22 - Mousse is fine and energetic with raspberry bubblegum on the nose - very floral aromatics beautifully expressive and lifted. Leads with a sherbet-like acidity on the front palate into a creamy long finish with some candied red fruit elements. Compared to LC20, LC22 is more vibrant and aromatic, showing less of the oxidative edge and more fruit purity and perfume. Perhaps will show better balance with a few more years of bottle age.
