Sole Meunière traditionally calls for a white a Burgundy, and if we had had friends with us, the Corton Charlemange would have come out of the cellar. However, this wine more than made up for it. Powerful, yet elegant, rich, yet nuanced. Toasted vanilla, tropical and stone fruits. Rich with a long finish. I am a fan of a Carneros Chardonnays, with a Bouchaine making a spectacular wine from one of California’s greatest vineyards.

A bit too young and showing a fair amount of heat (along with rich buttercream) at this point. Might be better in another year or two.
