Again, see my notes of 6/14/2013, 10/2/2013 and 7/11/2014 and 9/18/14. Smooth, velvety and viscous in the mouth. Great balance. Probably drinking at its apogee. 2nd time to taste this wine in a month.

For one who doesn't usually care for chards, very enjoyable, rich, buttery, citrus but balanced. Floral bouquet.

The wine is fairly similar to my prior tasting on 6/4/2013, 10/2/2013 and 7/11/2014: "aromas and flavors are of lemon, baked apple, pineapple, some creme brulee and minerals. It does not seem overly oaked. A little buttery in the mouth. Excellent structure and balance. Rich, nice fruit concentration, and has lots of depth. A long and lingering finish that has mineral components." Although subdued, toasty oak was slightly more noticeable this time.

The wine is just about the same as when I tasted it 9 months ago: "aromas and flavors are of lemon, baked apple, pineapple, some creme brulee and minerals. It does not seem overly oaked. A little buttery in the mouth. Excellent structure and balance. Rich, nice fruit concentration, and has lots of depth. A long and lingering finish that has mineral components." This time it was an excellent pairing with baked Atlantic salmon. Nice to enjoy Friday evening with …

Wine with Steak and Morels (Chez Kailin - Northbrook IL) : Tasted blind. Also easily identified as New World Chardonnay. Pleasant enough but simple, very fat and lacking backbone.

Light gold/yellow. After a 15 minute decant the aromatics were singing (somebody said Irish Spring soap –yep). Really nice palate of green apple and lemon curd with medium finish. Acid (crispness) seems to be faded from my last bottle ---- but still very good for our first white of Spring……I would drink these now as great balance of aromatics and palate with declining acid. Great with our crab cakes. Last bottle. Will be buying more of new releases.

Still has a yellowish-gold color. Last time I mentioned the wine appeared unfiltered and unfined; it could be, but it appeared quite clear this time. As it was three months ago, the aromas and flavors are of lemon, baked apple, pineapple, some creme brulee and minerals. It does not seem overly oaked. A little buttery in the mouth. Excellent structure and balance. Rich, nice fruit concentration, and has lots of depth. A long and lingering finish that has mineral components. …

A yellowish-gold color; appears unfiltered and unfined. Aromas and flavors of lemon, baked apple, pineapple, crème brulee and minerals. Not overly oaked; just right and well integrated into the wine. An unusually precocious development. Rich, intense, with lots of depth. Great structure and balance. A long mineral-like finish. Seems close to its apogee now, but has a few years left. Paired well with baked Turbot, but more appreciable by itself.

Had this wine in a rabbit wine chiller so it got a very light cooling. Paired it with a lobster claw and lobster bisque dinner with smoked cheddar cheese on the side. Paired well with the lobster, went better with the smoked cheddar cheese. Wine needs another 2 years to take the edge off of the oak. Nice bright lemon yellow color, vanilla on the nose but still young. An excellent wine that will be even better in a couple …

Tasted blind. Showing golden in color, with a hint of green, clear almost brilliant. Notes of green apple, flint on the nose. Medium bodied, showing just a hint of caramel, a bit of acid, but quite pleasant.

this really opens up nicely after going from cold to cool, interesting guava, Irish Spring soap bar and wax nose, shows deft balance, good use of oak, slightly buttery, with key lime pie, mineral and pineapple flavors, the acidity helps to glide the finish, gorgeous body and texture, nice by itself

Stunning. Golden, with a little white, then turning translucent at the end. Fuji apple, mineral, white pepper, lemon curd and brown sugar. So much depth and a shimmering finish that is long and contemplative. More approachable than the '09. Seering acid that is really in balance, thanks to a buttery palate. Inviting. The Varners make some of the best New World Chardonnay that you will find - in fact I would put their Chardonnays in the same league as some …
