Decanted. Deeply colored black-ruby, translucent and bright edges. Aromas of black currant & blackberry fruit, with star anise, leather, clove, paprika, thyme, rosemary, and pressed violet. Succulent ripeness on the palate, showing concentrated black fruit zest with cedary spices and fresh herbs consistent from the nose, along with iron, cracked peppercorn, and fresh mint. Medium-bodied with focused and refined density, finely layered and lifting in its acidity, with fine billowy tannins. Finishes with zesty and concentrated black fruit along with …

If yiu like Caymus but want to impress your friends with the French version, try this. Likely going to use the last half to cook Beef bourguignon on NYD.

Gives so much. Almost sweet cherry cola note. It is an eye-opener. Loads of red fruits and a sexy package. Tasted April 2024

Cigar box, blackberries, dark red pit fruits, flowers, and tobacco leaves, along with black currants fill the perfume. The wine is concentrated, juicy, sweet, and ripe. The tannins are soft, ripe, and round. The fruit has a creamy edge in the finish, with just a bit of chewiness to the berries, making it deceptively easy to drink. Yet this can age for 2 decades. The wine was made from a blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc. …

93-95 Punkte.

This ’23 from Clos du Marquis was enjoyed on Day 1 of our En Primeur trip. This was tasted at Chateau Nenin alongside the Delon Family portfolio. Tasting notes of blackberry, black cherry, fresh florals, and a hint of pipe tobacco on the finish. This was almost New World in style when compared to the rest of the portfolio. This is a ripe wine. Upon release, I would score this wine 91 points. With age this bottle could reach 93(+) …

Concentrated and still defined. Currants, black cherries, cedar, flower shop, chiseled rock and cassis. Long and expansive, with a full body and fine tannins. Layered and quite approachable on day one, with a one hour decant. Drink 2024 -.

Aroma is explosive, black fruits, earthy, very attractive. On the palate, this is where the problem comes in, alc is noticeable even though it is only 14%. Very dense, like a Napa cab, not elegant at all. Despite all that, it is a decent wine at the $50 price point.

Hervorragend gelungen. 2027-2046 (Verkostet "En Primeur" im April 2022. Dourthe/Château Léoville Las Cases) vvWine.ch

Cassis, blackberry, cigar box, cedar and spice are found in the nose and on the palate. The wine is fresh, round, forward, sharp and bright, with a cool touch of minty herbs on the backend that adds to the red fruits. The wine was made from a blend of 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot and 14% Cabernet Franc. 13.46% ABV. Drink from 2025-2039. 91-93

Flowers, spice, tobacco leaf and red with black currant aromas crowd into the perfume. There is a gorgeous freshness to the fruit, elegance to the tannins and energy in the finish that makes this all work. The wine leaves you with a long, sweet and vibrant red fruit, spice, earth and tobacco note. Drink From 2024-2037.

Bordeaux 2019 from barrel (From various locations, finally putting together these wine reviews) : Gorgeous aromas of very bright red fruit and pencil lead lead to a palate all in finesse, which conveys density and elegance. One of the best I can recall from barrel, the blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Franc clocks in fairly high at 14.1% alcohol, but a rather low pH of 3.6 (total acidity of 3.4 grams per liter) provides refreshing …

With a dark color, the wine hits you with cassis, flowers, tobacco, forest floor and herbal notes in the perfume. The wine is medium/full-bodied, with a big, juicy gulp of blackberry, red pit fruit, spice and herbs. The wine is long, sweet and vibrant with length and a focus on its purity in the finish. The wine blends 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Franc, reaching 14.1% alcohol. 92-94 Pts
