Typical Macallan. Very aromatic on the nose with sherry, vanilla, butterscotch. The taste is almost velvety. Nice finish. Absolutely worth the money !

Surprisingly good, always a little suspicious of NAS whiskey. Great length, just the right amount of peaty, sherry central. Love it, great finish.

Simply beautiful. Liquid gold. Rich smooth golden brown. Goes down magically and smooth and lasts for a minute and a half. Plum sweetness with charred Spanish oak and pepper. aromas of dark chocolate dried raisins and sherry. Worth the money. Haven’t touched he bottle in 10 years. Awesome.

Oaky and manly. Vanilla. A touch hot when bottle is new but once opened a few times, this is a sipper undiluted.

Consistent. I think this is the best of the Edition series so far. It is the most Manley with heavy oak notes and smoky finish. This is something to sip by the fireplace on a cold night.

Battle of the Macallan Editions (Chicago, Illinois, USA) : Orange-amber color. Lots of sherried oak on the quite pointed nose. Aromas of orange zest, polished leather, and green notes, with an underlying honeyed richness. The palate is zesty and spicy, with the salutary effect of clean sherry casks presenting themselves through a winey richness at the back of the tongue. This finishes with abundant rich notes of wood, and a lingering flavor of almonds. In total I find myself wishing …

This is of the same piece as the Macallan 18 year old (tasted side by side). Not as much length or sherry as the 18, but has the same elegance and breeding, with more emphasis. A steal at the original release price (around $100), not at the current resale price, though.

This is just fantastic. My 2nd bottle. Have 1 more plus 1 on order. Just delicious! Smooth in the mouth, then oaky, then warm heat. Fabulous experience. Great value for $99

Macallan’s new release: average age of this bottle is 20 years, it is the blend of 256 barrels. The Macallan Rare Cask Playing to The Macallan’s greatest strengths The Macallan Rare Cask was crafted only from Spanish oak sherry seasoned casks. These casks are amongst the most precious and scarce in single malt whisky. This exquisite rich ruby-red whisky is completely natural in colour: the interaction of spirit and wood alone delivers the stunningly vibrant glow. The Macallan’s Master Whisky …

Very approachable straight from the bottle. Creamy, woody, toffee on the nose. Soft on entry but a fiery kick with lingering wood finish. Definitely can taste the American oak. Note this is not a marked age bottle--well worth $100 though as much smoother than garden variety Glenmorangie @ 60$ plus it is very unique. Picked up 4 bottles.

I'm not a great connaisseur of whisky (or wine), but this is so good & rich, sweet, with vanilla, nutmeg and orange zests and dried fruits aroma. Really smooth. Definitely want to try the ruby next.

Hot, big alcohol burn. Over use of cheaper bourbon whisky casks which ,eaves the more abrasive finish

(This is a re-taste, last sip in the bottle - may very well have smoothend and evolved since bottle popping due to the over one year breathing.) Nose is smooth, Macallanish, only vague alcohol. Clearly oak, but refined and balanced. Creme brulee burnt sugar topping, hints of sweet caramel breaking through. Taste is clear perfected oak, frisky at first - then evolving into smooth but dry sweetness. Alcohol threatens to come to surface, but quickly is overwhealmed by the refined …

Sugary, candied nut, sweet honeyed malt and varnished cedar nose. Dry and focused upfront with a sweet mid-palate. Sherried flavours to finish. 15-18 yr age estimate

Demerara sugar and raisin nose. Full and viscous; rich and nutty; long, leathery finish (20+yrs age estimate)

Enjoyed in official Glencairn Whisky Glass. Nose is complex and mature oak in very good balance of sweet and dry. Alcohol fume is very faint, replaced with intense honey and mild spices. Hints of bitterness, also in good balance. Taste is strong but mild. Very good balance of sweet and dry. Almost no bitterness. Very focus on oak, but clearly refined and mature. No real sugar and fruits, more discrete herbal and sweet wood. Finish is milk with honey. Strong …

pale amber green in the glass. smells of honey, grassy hay, nuts, and faint peat. Very clean, with sweetness, and greeness and grassiness, with a pleasant lingering mint and cedar. Pairs perfectly w our whittaker hazelnut 35% milk chocolate!

Farve: Rødlig. Aroma: Appelsin, abrikos. Smag: træ, tør. Eftersmag: Let, ½ lang, brændt. Mangler karakter, lidt anonym, for let. Ikke en typisk MacAllan. Men stadig fin hverdagswhisky.

Vertikalsmagning af Macallan (Singlemalt-shop, Kulturstaldene) : Farve: Let rødbrun, mahogni. Aroma: Abrikos, sherry, lille sprit, aske. Smag: Træ, salt, aske, fed, olieret, cedertræ. Eftersmag: Brændt - a la Lagavulin. Slet ikke Macallan stilen, over i bourbon mere omend jeg ikke ved om den er på bourbonfade. Pris: 1.400 kr. Karakter: 9,2
