From magnum. I don’t have the disgorgement date but it was probably a more recent one as it came in a wooden box rather than the cardboard ones. Very fresh, but with some roundness in mouth feel. Green apple and pear. Drinks so well right now but can clearly age longer.

PNP. Brioche, quince, and honey on the nose. Dry, slightly tart palate, with a good quantity of medium bubbles. Easy drinker. Served at United Polaris club in Houston (IAH).

La Paulée 2022 (Glenelly) : (Partially Blind): Light yellow with fine bubbles. Aromas of warmed croissant, minerals, Granny Smith green apple and a touch of herb. A richer entry, more Gala apple than GS, there is a citrus element and a touch of spice. Whilst elegant it lacked mid-palate depth despite a reasonable finish. Fruity, quite linear.

Tasty champagne.

Gorgeous salmon cold with a nose of red apples and wild raspberry mixed with dried rose petals, tomato leaf, white pepper, talc and honey. The palate is tart and tart with dusty, salty, brightness and tones of raspberries white cherry and McIntosh apple. Salty, floral, honeyed and mint elements add complexity. Fresh and floral but shows a lot of depth as well. 53% Pinot Noir, 32% Chardonnay, 15% Pinot Meunier.

From magnum; this was lovely; the nose was rich and full of brioche, hints of toasted hazelnut, some lees; ripe golden delicious apple, baked pear. The palate has good density and concentration and has aged beautifully. Very good now, but still with lots of life.

Aromas of lime, wet stone, mineral and sourdough bread. Flavors of lime, mineral, shortbread and slate. Ends with a mineral driven finish of 10-15 seconds. Solid champagne.

Nice overall. A little carbonation remains, with little to no mousse. Lightly oxidized notes of butterscotch predominate. A bit of lemon curd. Mild to moderate complexity. A correct bottle but not a showstopper.

In a great drinking spot right now. Rich, brothy, leesy but still with great acid to balance it all. Light apple flavors but not overwrought. I am sure this will stay at this level for awhile but I don’t think it will improve, so drink now or in four+ years. From magnum and 2017 disgorgement.

I have had this bottle in the wine fridge for 2-3 years, and it has built up more weight and interest. The nose shows lots of lemon sherbet, a touch of yeasty, bready characters and a touch of honey. The palate is dry, long and cool, showing similar flavours - lemon, pear drop, honey and brioche. One taster commented that there was a hint of herbs but not to my palate. From a magnum. This is very youthful and fresh in comparison to the late '80s 750s I've tried. It's absolutely delicious and lighter in style and I'd recommend 5-10 years of additional age if you own the mag.

This is probably close to peak...good balance, richness, and moderate oxidative character. Fantastic.

Wine Warehouse Spring Tasting, this is the same as the Black Label but 6% Pinot Noir added to the blend, nose of brioche, apple, lemon, and slate, same on the palate, medium body, tasty, touch simple, much better than the Black Label to me.

Nice brioche/toast aromas, lean/racy.

Wine Warehouse Pre Event 2016 Spring Tastings, nose of yeast, crisp lemon/lime, very tasty, subtle and a touch simple, hint of sweetness and citrus on the mid palate, medium body, medium/long finish.

A blend of Pinot Noir (52%) and Chardonnay (48%). Bottled in 1997, aged for 18 years of the lees, disgorged in January 2016. Dosage 3 g/l. Pale lime green color. Quite developed and slightly reductive nose with somewhat straightforward aromas of gunpowder smoke, some roasted nuts and a little bit of dusty character. The wine is rich, mineral and lively on the palate with very lean, youthful and bone-dry flavors of steely minerality, tart lemony citrus fruits, some chalk dust, …

Very good NV fizz. Subtle biscuit. Not to dry, lovey fruit driven taste.

Solid, classic yeasty notes, a bit aggressive bubbles, slightly rustic, sour high acid, but solid lower priced Champers.

Nice relaxed nuttiness and vigorous tiny bubbles. Long finish with soft pear notes that gradually emerge.

A private lunch (Restaurant Le Parc **, Hotel Les Crayeres, Reims, France) : Magnum, disgorged September 2014. Wonderful freshness from the malic acid, crisp and fresh even after a quarter of a century, tightly wound and mineral, displaying subtle notes of coffee and cocoa, very energetic but at ease with itself, touch of creamy lemon, an intellectual wine.

Glengarry Grand Tasting - Day 2; 9/1/2014-9/2/2014 (Glengarry Wines and Spirits, Victoria Park, Auckland, New Zealand) : Rich mellow nose with autolysis, oxidative, mineral and herbaceous character. Very well made.

Lemon to peach nose with a hint of butter. Rather straightforward. Dry and acidity driven medium bodied palate with smooth moussé and tart lemon. Some Asian spice character is rather welcomed, since there really isn't much going on in here otherwise. Simplistic - and simply not impressive. Tasted from a Mag. 394,30€ in Alko special selection is just outrageous I thought, but then I googled some prices that were way beyond outrageous. And found a video with somewhat different take …

Light Lumber in Minneapolis : Interesting and well appreciated by most. Drank much more mature than expected for its age, already showing a slight bit of oxidation. Great value.

Lumber Comes To Minneapolis (La Belle Vie Lounge, Minneapolis) : A tasty Champagne showing ripe citrus fruit and nutty flavors. Smoothly textured with nice supporting acidity, this is moderately complex and nicely mature. I would tend towards drinking these up relatively soon.
