Joseph Drouhin / Drouhin-Vaudon Chablis 1er Cru Montmains

Made from both proprietary and purchased fruit, fermented in steel, aged in cuve, 13% ABV. Natural cork. Very competent Vaillons. Faint praise indeed, but what else do you call a wine that’s very well made but does not really shine and therefore fails to excite? It ticks all the boxes, ‘rien ne dépasse’, versatile, but unfortunately also forgettable. Objectively it does deserve a decent score though.

Emirates : Classic, elegant, generous while still clean and fresh. Preferred the Gimblett Gravels 2022 that came next.
