Aromatic bouquet with clear scents of marasca cherry, black cherry, blackberry flowers, dark caramel, coffee and cinnamon flower, coupled with chili pepper chocolate. Palate is consistent with decisive freshness together with noble and enveloping tannins. Balsamic and chocolatey hints call sip after sip, while the taste keeps evolving and evolving. An imposing structure, a vibrant combination of extraordinary territoriality. Not for everyone but a true discovery and tasting experience. Half an hour decanting is strongly recommended

Poured into a decanter about an hour before service. The 2005 pours a ruby color with a transparent but slightly turbid core. Medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. Some signs of fine sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of bruised strawberry, crushed ripe raspberry, Balsamico, well oiled leather, cayenne pepper, dry underbrush, exotic spices, carnations, rich Mahogany that has been freshly varnished and stony earth. I will politely consider this eccentric. Pale bricked color, certainly on its last legs with lingering fruit with much more earth. Starts off nearly elegant with good energy, but finishes with too much heat. Very expensive at release for what we are getting in glass today.

Very bricked, maderiazed color. Cork was fine and oxidation is not the culprit here. This is the second bottle that has presented this way. I don't think it's flawed, I just think it is no good. Volatile, nutty, embers, slightly medicinal. Not enjoyable. Another drainpour for this wine.

a quite peculiar cannonau in a way resembling to Primitivo di Manduria, with its taste reminding of "drying" of the grapes, typical of Amarone as well. At the nose, earth and underbrush, at palate you feel both its elegance and its delicate rustic essence with its complex nuances of spices and underbrush again, with some bitterness in the end. Purtroppo vino in deciso declino. Ha decisamente perso buona parte delle qualità che mi ricordavo. Colore, non solo con unghia mattone, ma anche notevolmente scarico, quasi da chiaretto. Had coravined this about a year ago and had a few sips. Finally pulled the cork bc I kept tripping on it in the cellar. Has held up very nicely. Absolutely beautiful. Delicate rose petals. Brickish red. Just enough hint of funk to be interesting. Strawberries. Tobacco. Long finish. Decanted and continued to unfold over a couple hours. Got deeper and darker. Acidity stayed refreshing. Still good on night 2 but lost a fair bit to sediment.

Never tried this wine before. Opened and had a taste last night, but no note. Note after 24 hours of air. This has the weight and fragrance of a pinot, but with a more tannic structure. Crazy VA on the nose early on, bordering on off-putting. The palate was much less controversial, though it showed solid natty funk for the first few hours. But the wine refined and focused itself, and by the next day showed rich dried cherry and balsam notes, with noticeable tannin and freshness. Big and dense stuff, though. This definitely needed time to show its best, which turned out to be pretty decent.

My first time with a wine from this producer and I like it. Light brick / orange color. Roasted strawberries with an initial hint of kerosene. Integrated with thirty minutes in the glass. The fuel smell settled into a tanned leather nuance. Intense flavor but not heavy. There is some tannin in the back end but I feel it is drinking well now. The brightness offsets the roasted fruit nicely. Pretty unique wine. (91)

Aromas of a bowl of "over-the-hill" prunes on opening ... damn near poured it out. Big change after about 45 minutes. As everyone has noted, this is an unusual wine.
