Herdade do Esporao Petit Verdot PV

4 hour decant. 14.5%. 100% Petit Verdot. Colour is good, legs are good, but not really enough fruit to cover the alcohol and the acid - to be sure, it's not an unpleasant drink, but nor is it a classic PV any more - nice flavours lurking in the background, but walking away rather than towards the drinker - shame.

Crushed blackberry, cheesy nose. Med+ body, velvety, dark, very slightly bitter, rather abstract. Some dark berries on the palate, more or less balanced, a bit spicy, but not really interesting. Licorice. Med. length.
