A great wine. Dark cherry, cedar, vegetable, light chalk, and light leather notes. Well balanced. Good acidity. Light integrated tannins. Likely still has a couple of years with this taste profile. Had with cheese and crackers, but would pair well with a nice grilled New York strip steak Quite delicious

Stunning. This is the year our daughter began her career in wine by moving to Napa, CA

Not sure if the wine is fading or it was my palate, but not as rich and big as I remember it, still a good serviceable cabernet.

Really starting to hit it's stride, fully fleshed out cabernet, lots of fruit, still plenty of tannin/structure for 5+ more years.

Blac fruit notes are prominent on the nose and palate, plum jam on the attack but more savory, garrigue notes on the finish. Good balance of acidity and tannin. Full bodied. Enjoyed it with baked pasta and solo after dinner.

Good dark color, bouquet was full of dark fruit and hint of vanilla, with a dry, medium-body with balanced acid and tannins. Flavor and finish is a little hot. I think this needs time to truly open. (4-13-17-7)

I found this wine to have a very tart finish. Heavy eucalyptus aromas leading to some heat on the nose. Tannins present with some grit. Blackberry and blueberry flavors followed by a medium finish.

Wonderful. Dark fruit, chalk and tannin, green pepper and baking spice. Even though this is 6+ years old, I think it will go another five. ==> Interesting note: I blended some in a glass with the last oz. of a Sangiovese from earlier in the week, and it was *fantastic*.

79% Cab. S, 8% Petite Verdot, balance Cab Franc and Malbec. Decanted 1-1/2 hours for a lot of fine sediment. Stand next for a few days, decant slowly Bold, fruity nose on opening. Inky to the center. Blackberry, cedar on the nose. Blackberry and cherry candy. Long oaky, vanilla finish. Nice balance, some tannin, but very ready to drink now. Over time the flavors got more complex and layered, the other varietals making a contribution as well. Very good value …

So it’s six years later and my impression is consistent with my last note. The wine is now thirteen years old and still quite tight; common for fruit off of Veeder. Drinking well but still has significant legs.

Had with Memorial Day dinner at City oyster in Delray. Deep purple. Big nose of blueberry, nail polish, cedar, rose water, freshly ironed cotton on the iron board (gf came up with that one) and blackberries. Taste is fruit forward but also very vegetal with asparagus and bell pepper. Pretty high tannins with a chalky quality and medium acidity. Medium plus body. Nice but a little too much green flavors. About 89-90.

Solid wine for a good price. Excellent balance with loads of jammy, dark, ripe fruits providing the backbone of character. Mingled with menthol, baking spices, sawdust, and cedar. This would be a good wine to have on hand.

Dark red/purple, deep cab bouquet, tannic, med plus mouthfeel. Good finish. Give it decant a few hours if air and you'll be rewarded, or cellar for 5 more years.

From the wine club: A gorgeous bouquet of wild flowers and crushed berries on the nose, with hints of cassis, camphor, cola, and cinnamon. The 2013 is quite ample and generous on the palate, brimming with lush black fruit and chocolate, mocha richness. Our 2013 is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, rounded out with 8% Petit Verdot, 7% Cab Franc, and 5% Malbec all from our rugged, picturesque Brandlin Estate Vineyard on Mount Veeder.

Not ready yet...just a big baby but with potential to get better. Some concern that the sharp tannins will not soften the right way and remain dominant. Very fruit forward and still very purple in color so have high hopes that will improve score.

Purple and opaque. The nose is dense black fruit - plumbs, cherries, blackberries, ... This wine is seven years old but still tastes like it is a baby. The mouth feel is full, the acidity is balanced and the tannins are still quite tart. Nice but there is lots of potential here. 5+13+16+8=91

88% cab, 6% malbec, 4% cab franc, 2% petit verdot. Classic Bordeaux blend for this big Californian Cabernet Sauvignon. present. Expressions of carmel, dried apricot cedar. High focused tannins will allow for a 5 - 10 year cellaring time.
