Purple in color. 14.1% ABV. Sensational nose of black fruits, licorice and scorched earth. Very approachable with a silky mouth feel. Medium to full bodied with perfect acidity. Cassis liqueur, black currants, tobacco and toasty oak on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. The high percentage of Merlot in the blend has this drinking in a great place right now when my experience is that many reds from Woodward Canyon need more than just a decade of bottle age. …

Drank this bottle without decanting but slowly over the course of the evening. It was initially pretty dry but opened up well. It was excellent and we really enjoyed it.

Double decanted and yet this wine was still very structured initially. But over time it opened up nicely. This is a big wine and one must be a fan of Right Bank style to appreciate it. Give it plenty of time to open up.

This is already a pleasure to drink. The fruit is medium intense, seems merlot and oak influenced with a dominant plummy cherry aroma and some chocolate. The flavors are similar with more pronounced chocolate. I like the fruit but it's more straight forward, lacking nuance, than expected. It's very silky in the mouth, medium weight, with no or very little tannin and a bright youthful finish. Overall this is a beautiful, young, classy, approachable wine with extraordinary texture. I would …
