Stellar Pinot from Gros Ventre. Beautiful dark fruit with a luscious mouthfeel that seemed to expand across the palate. Dark cherry, blackberry and a bit of forest floor. Seductive, exhilarating and inviting! Great bottle!!

Beautiful ripe fruit with soft mouthfeel, highlighted by dark cherry, earthy loam and black raspberries. Voluptuous without being over extracted or too heavy. Great weight and the flavors abound in this beauty. I think this can even continue to get better with time as I think the lovely fruit will continue to integrate and evolve. Drinking just beautifully now though. A delight in the glass.

dark violet/ruby color. Nose pine, hint of anise with herbal notes, some blackberries. Palate blueberries initially at cellar temp; riper with some warming. Hint of cranberries, good lightness overall. Nice herbal/pine notes. Good with light entrees, still has that cali depth of fruit but a lighter style overall. Drinking well now. 91 pts

West Sonoma Coast Tasting (Washington, DC) : I love Anthill Farms' take on this vineyard, and Gros Ventre's is also excellent. Wow, the aromas of raspberries, cherries, pepper and even sea breeze are really cool. Tangy, crisp, bright, but lots of raspberries and cherry fruit. Complex elements of earth and pepper abound. This will have a lot more to show in a few years.

West of West DC (The Hecht Washington DC) : Hadn't heard of these guys before so good to try some of their stuff. Overall strong lineup. Another nice wine from these guys. Maybe a bit more fruit here but still not heavy. Liked it.
