Spice, iodine, sour cherry, wood, earth and mild fruit. A disappointment on this one for sure.

Still Fantastic! One bottle left and I don’t feel rushed.

Worst case of brett I've ever seen. I normally am used to drinking some level of bretty wines because - hey burgundy - but this was extreme , textbook plastic bandaids, medicinal tubing, and to the point that there was absolutely no fruit at all.

This was very good but more lean than I was expecting - definitely a restrained style. Great blackberry fruit still, not showing any signs of age, other than that the fruit had clearly receded. Tertiary notes of leather were hardly discernible. Quite Bordeaux in style, medium bodied, robust structure of tannin and acidity. Other Californians that this reminded me of are late 90's Monte Bello and Spotteswoode of a similar age. Longish finish and fairly straightforward. Drinking now, will continue …

Very well balanced and integrated wine - a puzzle fitting beautifully together. Elegant and blithe with a medium body and concentration on both the nose and palate. Hints of black cherries, blackberries, leather, licorice and finishing a slight minerality on the nose. This blend of Cabernet, Merlot and Petite Verdot was very smooth and long on the finish.

Scored slightly higher out of magnum than previous tasting out of 750s. Black cherries, blackberries, leather and chocolate with hints of licorice, earthiness and minerals in the nose. Black cherries and blackberries in the flavor. A rich, concentrated, elegant wine with nice complexity. Very well balanced, full bodied and a very smooth long finish. Drinking very well right now. 94/95

Either the bottle was defective or I waited too long as it definitely tasted like vinegar. Very Disappointing.

Way better than the last bottle I had. Maybe the last bottle was bad. This was good but certainly not worth the price.

This is the lowest rating I have ever given a wine on here. I wanted to like it, but this was awful. I opened it and tasted. Not corked but no positive elements. Tasted again several times to see if it just needed air and time. It remained terrible. Maybe it is just my palate, but I have Napa Cabs from many of the great producers. I hate pouring out basically a full bottle of wine but it was just …

Decanted 20 minutes before dinner, finished hours later. Claret styled nose that leads with aged notes of pencil and caramel along with cassis, based on a smooth palate of earthy black cherry and currant fruit. Medium to long finish that extends the lovely interplay of primary/secondary/tertiary. Gained a little weight and sweetness with time in the decanter. Not the most complex, not truly sublime, but worthy of the dry aged prime ribeye. This bottle would have lasted several more years …

Buying at auction is no easy task to get value for quality. Normally Blankiet is not that, but tonight, for Thanksgiving I have found an exception. At $80 for the bottle I can see why there is so much split opinion here as this exceptional quality is not typical of Napa cab, but fantastically enjoyable all the more. This bottle, I had been meaning to open since September with my love, but the opportunity never realized. So, here for T-day, …

Corked, sadly. But, I followed it up with a 2008 Blankiet Rive Droite that was exceptional.

Similar to prior notes After the initial taste, this wine seem to deteriorate, not bad but never fully opened up & tasted different than other bottles from memory; off bottle? (dropped score)

Bad bottle? Minimal fruit, really flat, no depth. Try one, perhaps drink up.

Double decanted then SO'd for a few hrs, dark crimson, no brick, dark fruit with some spice, mod. tannins, long finish; delicious but still young for my taste.

Cabernet Tasting 2001 - 2007 (Manhattan Beach, CA) : Overall good. Rich fruit, chocolate, coffee. Hot finish. I think this wine still needs time to fully integrate. We'll see.

Nose of cassis, smoke and some dark fruit. Silky smooth with earthy spice. Bordeaux like elegance and flavors. Well done. And still has quite a bit of life left. Pretty long finish.
