Similar to last time, but more garnet in color, more strawberry in the nose, more soy mixed in raspberries and cherry cola, well integrated tannins, good acid, and a medium to long almost fizzy finish. Still going strong.

Color just like a pinot - semi-translucent garnet-tinged ruby. Strawberry, spice, and slightly earthy nose. Medium bodied, intense raspberries, pepper, cherry cola, soft and sweet tannins, a bit of soy sauce, and a short to medium finish. Lacks the subtlety of a good pinot, but hey, its grenache. And a pretty good one too.

Very dark light bodied wine that was a pleasure to drink. I was really surprised at the high level of acidity. The wine was very fruity with strong hints of cherry and raspberry.

Drank this over two days. On the PNP. In the glass it has a deep garnet core and light red edges, you can barely see ones hand through the wine under the glass. The nose is potent and almost perfume strong. Primarily raspberry and a bit of cherry and strawberry. Very nice acidity with bright fruit. Not a fruit bomb - tastes of strawberry, bright cherry, vanilla, some earthiness with a little fat to balance against the acidity. Normally more of an old world style, earthy Grenache, but the acidity on this one does it for me.

I like this wine a lot. Almost everything I drank in the past 6 months had some Grenache in it but maybe only 2 or 3 100% Grenache. I love the nose on this wine, bright tart cherries + licorice. In the mouth it has tart cherries plus light cream. Finishes remarkably long. I am not a big fan of Core wines, the 3-4 label I had were all disappointments. The wine is a light to medium ruby red, much lighter at the edge. The very nice nose has cherries, dried herbs, black raspberries, baking spices, black pepper, and a touch of licorice. This has a medium body with fairly solid, ripe tannins and very good acidity. (14.9%) Per the winery there is some Cabernet and Syrah mixed in here but I can’t find any blend percentages. That said as usual for Core Wines this one appears cloudy to the eye as it is unfiltered. Juicy blueberry and tart strawberry with dense (pleasant), chalky tannins. From there a spiced acidity takes hold that leads to a short but nice finish.
