Black fruit on the nose. Slightly jammy in the mouth, diminishing fruit since last bottle. Very slight oak. No nuance. Sorry to say, I don't see this going anywhere.

UGCB 2022 walkaround tasting (Amsterdam) : Juicy dark berries, good acidity and well dosed oak. Slightly drying and some bitterness in the finish.

The floral essence is quite strong here. Once past its bouquet, you find a lushly textured, back cherry, and cocoa inspired finish. Chateau Clarke is one of the very few wines in the Medoc that is planted to 100% Merlot. Drink from 2025-2038.

Great wine. The nose is ethereal. Superb structure. Mineral driven background. Blackberry, raspberry and a touch of cherry and leather. It may have time but I doubt it will get better.

Double magnum. A real powerhouse of a wine in this grand format, concentrated and tannic, with lots of toasty oak but with fruit to match. Impressive and energetic rather than elegant. Unformed. Give it time.

Floral, fruity, and fresh, with blackberries, and chocolate-accented black currants and cherries, the wine is medium-bodied, creamy, and fruity from start to finish. Chateau Clarke is one of the very few wines in the Medoc that is planted to 100% Merlot. Drink from 2025-2038. 89-91 Pts.

90 vvPunkte / Sehr reiffruchtig, dunkle Beeren dominieren, sehr schöne Frucht, gut dosiertes Holz. Im Gaumen straff, kernig, mit knackiger Frucht, markanten, jedoch reifen Tanninen und viel Druck, hallt angenehm lange nach. Das ist ein sehr gelungener Château Clarke mit guten Reserven. This bottle has passed its top. Short finish which is on top too dry. While nose and paalte remain intact for some 2 hours, they fall apart after that quite rapidly and quite complete.

Surprisingly good. Decanted for 2 hours and drank at one sitting. Plummy bouquet, soft on the palate with silky tannins. Only knock is that finish could be longer. Was expecting to be underwhelmed but was impressed overall.

Muted nose, light blackberry on the palate and surprisingly the tannins are still not so rounded after 12 years. Some plum and short finish too. Listrac-Médoc in the Haut Medoc of Bordeaux's left bank is the least prestigious of the appellations, as it is situated in an area of limestone and clay soils (rather than gravel and clay). As the soils are more shallow here, the vine roots do not run very deep. It's classified as Cru Bourgeois. Thanks for sharing …

Decanted and drank over two days. Allowed to breath for three hours before drinking. Medium body. Aroma closed, very little present. Not much to offer the tongue, medium acidity, little fruit, perhaps a touch of tar. No improvement on day two. Underwhelming. Surprising for the vintage where so much potential resides in other producers.

Super silky. Very pleasant on the palate. Body is a bit on the light side, so is the nose. However, a great effort of Listrac in a strong year. and as always: Forget wine journalists on small labels in great years. WS gave it a lifeline till 2015. How wrong can these guys be?

By the glass at L’Ideal 1850 , Megeve. We tried to confirm vintage and when this was opened but we only got a wall of beautiful french shrugged shoulders. Barring a light dusty feel to story this was a well mannered and rounded wine. Good evolution nice fruit and just effortless. Very pretty generic but good claret. 89

Decanted and drank over two days. Medium body, nose of black fruit and damp soil. Palate includes the same along with graphite, medium-high acidity, tannins settling but are dominated by the acidity. Short finish. Overall enjoyable but I will wait another 3-5 years to pull another of these from the cellar.

Decant for 3 hours with swirling the decanter every 30 minutes. Drank from a magnum. Became more integrated as time went on. Acidity and tannins were balanced but lacking smoothness. Fruit seems somewhat subdued. A great wine to start off before pulling out the big guns. Will come back to it in about 5 years to check on its development.

Un listrac qui possède un beau fond. Des notes typiques de bordeaux avec un cuir, boite à cigare. Le fruit est bien enrobé, complexe. Longueur de bon aloi. 91 sur 100.

Decanted over two days. Medium body. Nose somewhat open with fruit, dark fruit and RR tie. Palate a bit tannic on day one with underlying dark fruit, less tannic on the second day with more fruit. I think this will will get somewhat better over two years or so, still very approachable now, however.

Deep core color with some brick edge. Nose with ripe fruits. Black currants and cherries. Some plums. With spice, leather from the oak aging. Palate with the same fruits. Ripe. Tannins still present and keep it fresh. Good wine from an excellent vintage

Decanted over two days. Medium body. Generous oak and cigar smoke on the nose and palate on first day. Second day is best, with smoke blowing off a bit, leaving cedar and cigar box at just the right amount. A speck of anise. Good black fruit still showing through and tannins well integrated. Very enjoyable, good value.

Tasted a glass at the restaurant "M". Nice medium dark ruby - no bricking. On the nose, aromas of tobacco, plums and cherry. On the palate, the attack is frank, with the aromas as found on the nose with added red currant, with a medium concentration. A medium length with lots of rounded tannins. In my book, this is good to go, and a rather good example of Clarke. 90 A trip down memory lane (the first Bordeaux I ever …

PNP with some grilled burgers and potato’s. I’m usually not much of a French fan but this pleasantly surprised me. Rich dark color and a strong tobacco nose along with nice even tannins made this a pleasure to drink. Blackberry with some licorice on the initial taste and it began to open in the glass (Grassl 1855) to more cherry flavors with a hint of vanilla. Very nice and seems like it could age a few more years and still …

Decanted for 90 mins. Classic merlot dominated Bordeaux nose. Plush and tobaccoey, stewed plums. The nose suggested more development than on the palate, which was still fairly structured, with slightly spikey tannins Nice mineral notes with all of the red fruit and tobacco mix but the flavours on the palate were not hugely generous. This was enjoyable and shows real quality but it still seems young. It could really hit its stride in 5 years time.

Needs 1 hour devant, opened up beautifully after 45-60 or so. Deep colour still, eucalyptus, anis, blueberries just little lightweight but quite enjoyable.

Decanted for two hours prior to tasting. Medium to full, but more medium. Great nose of purple fruit with a hint of tar. Palate of wet granite and still lively tannins that are balanced with the granite. Plenty of fruit left in this wine. Can be enjoyed now or likely for a good five or more years to some.

Fantastic! Deep crimson in the glass. Plumb, red fruit, Earth, graphite, and menthol bombard the nose immediately. Smooth mid-palate and bone-dry tannins lead to a long finish. This is really rocking right now. Drink and enjoy or hold for maybe a couple more years.
