Tasted after 90 minutes in a decanter. Medium ruby red in color. Struck match on the nose along with cherries, plum, a hint of mushroom. Cherries, flint, mineral on the palate. Medium body, medium+ acid, soft tannins. Nicely balanced. Enough hefty to stand up to steak, but would also go well with pork or salmon. 13% alcohol.

Coravin. Initially some reduction on the nose. Nose has exceptionally high intensity aromatics, red currant, raspberries, earthy in a minerally, iron type of way (rather than mulchy); palate is light-medium bodied, more burly than the Volnay by far, medium tannic structure, blackberry fruit; medium finish. The nose is unexpectedly brilliant. The palate is classic NSG in density and flavors. Overall, this was wonderful and reflects the terroir well.
