Pink colour chalky and after a while hoeny on the nose. Opens up and puts on weight and develops with rich flavors. Far more honey on and plenty of extract on the finish. Elegant and will improve for the next 5y

Camille Saves Cuvee Anais Jolicoeur 2008.

Delicious, like all other 08s I've had. Vibrant ripe fruits with bright acidity. Not a powerful Champagne but so well balanced. Highly drinkable. Goofy label.

Yet another stellar showing from this wine - these seem to be getting even better with just a little more age. Taut and precise but to the point of elegance rather than austerity. Very fine mousse - almost perle-like pressure on opening - but more persistent than that implies. This bottle prompted an email asking if they have any stocks left - sadly not, but they've produced this cuvee in the top-notch 2012 vintage, so I've booked an impromptu visit …

Burgundy WIMPS, Complet table (La Trompette, London) : Palest of pink tinges in the style of Bereche. Dry with a touch of yeast. Finely chalky. Some body to this, cut through by a lovely line. Elegant. Opens up and puts on weight and develops some width. Retains a fine mousse but not quite the fresh elegance it started with. Far more honeyed on the nose now and plenty of extract on the finish. Lovely. ****

Red apple, dense, nutty, red fruit; nice richness, density, good cut and mineral.

This is tremendous. At a recent visit to the cellar door to pick up the delicious "basic" NV rosé, we picked up half a dozen of this, the "top" cuvee. We had a last minute and very rushed lunchtime appointment so didn't have time to taste in advance but you can't go all that far wrong with 2008s from decent producers (and it's our wedding year, too.) Based on some commentary elsewhere I was expecting a bit of a bruiser …

90% Pinot Noir 10% Chardonnay, fermented in oak Very pale pink due to the high Pinot Noir content. Very lively nose with yeast, chalk and vanilla notes. Dry, balanced with peach, lemon and chalk on the palate. Lovely.
