A bit past prime as the fruit is fading and the acid has moved to the front. Drink up.

This has rounded into form. Full for a Rose, with a good depth of flavor. I lean towards drink up but if a bottle was still around in a year it likely will be just as good.

So how often do we get to taste a Nebbiolo based wine from California, especially a rose? This is good stuff. On one hand it shows a soft, delicate nature, and on the other, a robust, structured and spicy mouth full of flavors. The flavor impression across the palate is a combination of both red and black licorice. Has that soft, whole cluster, no broken skins type of flavor. Young and fresh, yet possessing some nuanced secondary earthy flavors,

At Va de Vie BTG; Good mixed berry and quince; dry with a garrigue fullness to the mid palate; medium acidity; substantial for a rose though not light on its feet

Lots of variety in TNs for this - strawberry, no strawberry, raspberry, lots of bright red fruits, not much fruits.... Maybe this varies a lot from day to day.... For me, there is some very subtle red fruit, red licorice, floral, spice. Dry, austere (in a nice way), interesting. Better at warmer temperature.

wind gap (the barlow) : 50% nebbiolo 35% syrah 15 % grenache Uncomplicated raspberry on the nose, heavy body, bone dry but fizzy. Interestingly enough the more unexperienced of the two otherwise very friendly guys pouring at the tasting room in the Barlow tried to sell this to me as something very complex and interesting (the carbon dioxide that is)...

Is in a bit of a dumb phase right now, though it still has all the elements. Just seems a little flat. Will try again in a month or so.

Needs a bit more time a month or two to unwind.. reminds me of a Mouvedre based rose but more austere at the same time.. really its own thing. I really like it. great with food. Not for someone looking for a lot of fruit.. more a steely iron fist kind of rose with some great but tight aromatics of Rose Hip.. no strawberries here folks.

I'm so glad all the Rosés were released. Beautiful pale pink color, a nose of strawberries, wet limestone, and roses. Palate was expressive with tart strawberries dominating. Nice acidity and easy to drink. This is my favorite rosé I've had so far this year. This also would make a great picnic wine - it has an expressive palate so it can be drunk out of cheap glassware. We were drinking it out of horrible glassware last night and it still …
