Some Wine Tasted at the Acker La Paulée Auction (Monterey - New York NY) : Small glass. Mature red cherry with baking spice, good weight and balance. Good now, I doubt further upside.

All subtlety — flowers, lavender; stemmy, silken. Polish and class. Understated beauty. Somewhere beyond fully mature, but not yet hanging on for dear life. Worth listening closely; it still has something lovely to say.

Killer burg, almost all you could ask for. Floral spice with sweet red fruits in a succulent style. Elegant and pretty. Drinking beautifully.

Black raspberries on nose and palate. A little mocha and book dust. Chewy on the palate but great freshness and presence. Very linear structure with slight oak framing and bright acidity. Dark chocolate and pain d'epices. There is a regality here. Great stuff.

Nose: subtle but engaging perfume of morello cherry, sweet earth, and fine herbal notes of sage and thyme. Bit of floral note and bitter cocolate round it out. Palate: moderate length and fine texture. Silky layers of cherry and turned soils. Finish: medium and offering more of dark red fruit notes. Dark tannin is still present in the finish. Very good, but not nearly the Vosne typcity that I had hoped for. The spiced elements were closed up today.

For those who follow my post will know that I am a big fan of 2007 red Burgundy, an underrated vintage that often outperforms. Elegant, floral and transparent of terroir. Served this blind to friends and it caught our attention right away. Fragrant and lifted bouquet of rose petals, sweet strawberries and delicate spices. Stemmy but flirtatious. 1er Cru intensity with a hint of austere tannins but sexy fragrant that stood out in the Pinot flight. Drink now to 2030. …

The 2007 Dujac Vosne Romanee Les Beaux Monts once again outperformed! Tasted blind and it reminded me of producers that makes light-footed and floral wines, such as Duroche, Arnoux Lachaux (post-2014) and Comte Liger Belair. Well put together bouquet of dark and red cherry fruits, perfumed musky cherry and bubbly wholecluster. Premier Cru weight, cool climate minerality (Lavaux St Jacques?). Maturing like a 2011, reminds me of Duroche. Gevrey Chambetin Lavaux St Jacques? (90/100)

On a night where all of our illustrious Vosne wines struggled, like bugs caught in a web, to show anything beautiful - only the flaws and faults were on display, this wine still was lovely. Bright fruits and soil tones on the nose, those same flavors carry onto the palate, there is a very silky and alluring texture. This is lovely wine. I did not find much of a terroir stamp, though, which was disappointing. And i found the midpalate …

Adrian visits Châteauneuf-du-Salil; 10/19/2018-10/20/2018 (Indianapolis) : Stunning aromatics. It's a very tasty wine, but the wow factor here comes from the fragrance alone - a beautiful perfume of fresh red fruits, new oak, stemmy, spicy, and floral scents, and just a faint savoury earthy bass note. The palate sadly doesn't show the same depth as the aromatics, but it's still excellent and I had no complaints having this with the lamb empanadas.

Visiting Châteauneuf-de-Salil (sans Pape); 10/19/2018-10/20/2018 (Indianapolis, IN) : Classic Dujac spice with accentuated earthy tones on the nose as well. The palate is earthy but there's lovely spice and fruit that gives this a lot of freshness. Racy acidity and elegant, this is clearly young but to me, sufficiently resolved for pleasurable drinking already.

Stems, dark fruit, and spice. This is still a little reticent and closed. Another great 99 in the making but not quite ready yet. Check back in a couple of years.

Wine Tasted at Acker Auction (Le Bernardin Prive - New York NY) : Small glass, brief note. Maturing red cherry throughout with baking spice. Very good balance, moderate weight and length. Certainly already in the middle of its peak drinking window.

Christmas Dinner Søllerød 2016 (Søllerød Kro) : Warming up to the great 2007-tasting in January, JR served this one non-blind, it is a wonderful, juicy wine, typical of both the domiane and vintage, and the great terroir does shine through, it is very much Vosne with a core of splendid Pinot, that is just impeccable.

No formal notes - a bit disappointing. Nice enough burg but nothing special. Tannins starting to fall. Seems to have put on age prematurely. Maybe the last two bottles will be better.

This has come on a lot and is now very drinkable. As one might expect from a 2007, not a lot of body, but pleasing long finish with a real taste of terroir

Nice wine, but just a little to reserved to be enjoyable right now. Wish I had held it.

Beginning now to lose some of its tannins and so not quite there but almost - Perhaps another six moths plus opening bottles earlier should do the trick

Completely different from bottle drunk 2 months earlier. Exquisite, with delicate fruit, fully rounded and unexpected longer finish than one might have thought. Whilst the previous bottle needed to be kept some years this was undoubtedly very ready to drink!

This was a mistake needs to be in bottle at leadst another 3 to 5 years beofre being drunk. However, smell and taste are suggetive of a wine that will be reasonably attractive when ready

This is a fun bottle to drink and is approachable because of the vintage. It doesn't have quite the structure that a great vintage would have but everything is still there. Good fruit with a mixture of both dark and red fruit.

Third bottle I've had in the last 6 months. The structure is there but needs time to come around. I'll be putting this away for a while.

This bottle was very impressive. Opened 3 hours before tasted. Great nose with dark fruit. It has added a little weight since the last bottle I had this winter with more structure. I believe that this will evolve into a something special with time.

Red fruits and spice, but lighter bodied with a very '07 feel. Lacking a bit in density, and not particularly well-supported on the finish. Enjoyable, but not showing much.

Dujac City - Burgundy Fest (Waterford Wine Co. Tasting Room) : An inviting and delicious nose of sweet baked cherries. Smooth on the palate with firm tannins. Earthy red cherries. Long finish of stony and dusty fruits. Delicious.
