Rutherford Hill Cabernet Sauvignon XVS Spring Lane

Having the hardwood flooring refinished in a section of the kitchen so had to empty and move a wine chiller. Found this in the process, having bought it back when I didn’t have a pot to piss in. Surprisingly bright in color, nose and palate. Great fruit, a little dusty and some (pleasant) classic green bell pepper. Much better than expected. I think I visited this place years ago (cellars built into a hillside???) and their specialty was Merlot(??)

Dark fruit (blueberry, cherry), cassis, good acidity. Slight pepper? Lingering finish. Really enjoyable.
