Medium raspberry-dark cherry robe. Gorgeous nose of violets and light licorice. Appropriately tart entry followed by fruit and light tannins. A great value in Burgundy! So different from the last Pinot Noir I tasted, 2021 Belle Glos Pinot Noir Eulenloch Napa Valley, which was ponderous and over the top.

2022 Givry Danjean-Berthoux. Givry region of Burgundy. 100% Pinot Noir. Fresh Red fruit notes with plenty of spice and pepper on the finish. Very dry, lighter, higher in acidity. INCREDIBLE value for the price point - plays up to some premier cru’s but at $25 a bottle. Perfect “everyday” bottle for the cellar. Givry is a top region - looking to find more from there.

Deep purple garnet, herbal nose, carries through to the palate with licorice and plum. Quite different to other givry's I've tried. Nice body, quite balanced. It's quite angular at the moment. Leave a couple of years.

Flatiron - burgundy event (Flatiron, SF) : Slight butter and reduction. Medium plus tannins - a bit bitter. Good medium plus acid. Overall a bit herbal, but nice.
