This is an excellent PR cab. At its' peak of maturity...incredibly balanced and smooth flavors that worked well with a top Filet Mignon and a Rib Eye steak along with grilled veges. Doesn't get much better for a Paso Cab.

Decent nose of jammy red fruit and vanilla, palate of red & black berries, mocha and mild tannins. Still good but has probably seen better days.

Consistent with my earlier note. The only change I might have would be drink now or in the next year.

Seriously inky-dark. A Darth Vader wine. Popped & poured. Sharp tannins still in evidence. Notes of black cherry, red raspberry, blackberry, mocha, spices & a bit of eucalyptus. Medium finish. This one could likely hold for a couple more years, or drink now.

Evolving nicely; held up well to a steak, and it has good grip in the mid-palate . Not sure the structure will hold over time, and I don't see this evolving into something magnificent, but it's v. enjoyable right now. Is it worth, except to the top half of the 1&, anything close to what Ken charges for it? Of course not.

Had this at the tasting room at Kenneth Volk. I thought that this was extremely weak and flabby for a Cab Sauv - I was very disappointed. There are not a great deal of tannins in this wine, so I am not sure how long this would last in the cellar. Not good enough to drink on its own, I would drink with a decent peppered steak.

Nutshell: if you like cabs w/pretty complex flavors and solid finishes for $25, this is a good choice. One of the better cabs I've had in the past year and one of the best I've had for $30 or so. Very good value. 85 is a very good score for me. Nose: cassis and dark cherry mostly, but some earthier grassy and a whiff of sweeter vanilla and minty/eucalyptus. Taste: big time cassis/black currant, big time sweet black berry, a …
