Dr. Konstantin Frank, Semi-Dry Riesling, Finger Lakes

Great semi sweet wine, and refreshing on a hot day. Aroma of grapefruit and lime; flavors of nectarine. Not overly sweet, somewhat crisp but lacking high acidity.

Pleasant enough. Juicy, Kabinett style, but lacking the racy acidity associated with distinguished Rieslings from the Mosel or Rheingau.

Aomas of ripe peach & nectarine. Flavors of apple, peach, & nectarines. Has nice acidity which leads into a zesty fruit finish. #SenecaLake

Drank over 3 days. Pale yellow colour. On the nose grape juice, pink grapefruit zest and notes of lime. The sweetness is on the higher side but not overpowering. In addition to the notes detected in the bouquet it leaves you with a slight bitterness, which is not unpleasant but adds another layer to the finish. Would like to compare this to the dry Riesling. I could not detect any significant change over the three day period.

Nice balance of acid and sugar, despite the high RS number on paper, not grossly sweet. Great with a spicy Thai dinner.

PnP at cellar temperature and enjoyed first with brie, then with pork schnitzel with mustard greens gratin. Fabulous wine, showing better aromatically tonight than it did in the tasting room in October. Full of honeycrisp apple, dripping peach, lemon zest, and a taught green (celery?) accent on the backend. Full in the mouth with delicately balanced sweetness and acid. The ultimate palate cleanser. Persistent fresh acid drives the finish. Like other Dr. Frank wines, a stupidly good deal at USD$13.50. …

Honeymoon in the Finger Lakes; 10/17/2016-10/20/2016 (FLX, New York, USA) : Tasted at the winery. Poured cold. Made with Seneca grapes, not Keuka, coming in at 2.3% RS. A little reticent on the nose, but GREAT acidity. Not cloying in the least. Driven by peach and orange qualities throughout. "Very good-to-excellent," 90/100.
