Cyril Zangs This Side(R) Up

Apples & Oranges (Chicago, IL) : Compared to the other two Zangs ciders, I liked this one the most but that's really only because I didn't find as much rotten/composting character in this one. But there's different off putting flavours in this -- particularly a bit of a lactic character and some unpleasant bitterness.

Tasting. Brief note. Orangey, olive tapenade, serious funk. Not my thing.

color dark orange, golden. Nose light funk, apple notes. Palate with clear apple flavors, light spices, light body, finish with a mushroom/savory element. Satisfying and a nice aperitif. 89 pts
