This was ok. Guests liked it more than I did. Red cherries and typical California Pinot zest. it's a crowd pleaser because they 'll see it as "smooth" - but at $40+ - just stick to the larger production HC bottlings for $10 less dollars.

This is actually aging a bit better than I anticipated. The flavors and bouquet are similar to my previous review, but now there is more cedar, spice and tobacco on the finish. The finish is thinning a bit, despite a fair amount of "heat.". Drink up.

Maybe I waited too long, but this was not very impressive.

Much better than last year. Very bright cherry with a little peppery backbone. Everything is resolving nicely but the flavors are still big and bright. Nice drinking experience. Will save the last one for next year.

Dark and rich with nice RRV Pinot flavors. Drinking well now but could probably age another couple years.

Seems a little off and may be past its prime or a bad bottle. Even let it sit a day after drinking one glass. Combination of high acidity and not balanced by the fruit.

Nice red fruit and cola nose, color is a dark ruby. This is a nice bottle but doesn't have the depth of top tier Pinots. cherry, cola and pepper on the palate. This wine teases. On palate it is pleasant and seems to be offering more but more never quite materializes. It is enjoyable but not sure if the QPR is there.

Started off slow, but really opened up after about an hour. Excellent acidity and finish, but the fruit is a little flat especially at first, and I agree that it still tastes a bit young - might be much better in another year.

Bold rich ruby red with a expansive slightly medicinal nose of red cherry, raspberry, mint and spice. Picks up pepper on the palate to go along witht he fruits and a midling finish. Rich mouthfeel.

A pleasent nose of red berries, smoke, meat, and some mushroom. Nice on the palate but was missing great balance found in the best pinots. The acid, tannin and fruit, were not fully integrated. Finish was short but pleasent. Overall a nice wine, but not worth searching out.

Enjoyed earlier tonight with the first flite of wines at the Hickory Wine Club tasting at Lake Hickory CC. RP rated 90. Very pleasant and enjoyable but I thought it tasted significantly younger then an '05 CA pinot. Nose very bright with red cherry, raspberry and white pepper. Good mouth feel, medium bodied, decent aftertaste, still quite acidic and young. Primary flavors of bing cherry, plum, raspberry, black pepper more then white pepper. Too expensive to be a good QPR …

Pretty cherry and floral notes. Developed nice richness and fullness as it opened after an hour or so. Another delicious Pinot from Hartford.

Not sure how much longer this will age, but the first year and a half in the cellar has resulted in a less acidic, balanced wine. Nose of flowers, dark berries (and cherries) and oak. THe finish was surprisingly long.

Plenty of bright cherry flavor with a peppery spicy aftertaste. Will probably resolve into something very beautiful but is a little disjointed now and quite volatile on the nose.

Opened not decanted. Cherry red in color with a little clarity showing at the edge. Immediately upon opening: orange blossoms on the nose which segues to briary fruit. On the palate: restrained red fruit with touches of wood; a little watery with a dry cherry finish. Everything seems somewhat "narrow". Shut down? Good, but should be better.

Super-ripe notes of coffee, oak and raspberry. Also dusty red berry with some earth/brett. This is a big, ripe pinot, which doesn't support the musky bretty notes very well. Huge mineral on the good length finish. Drink now-2012. 87? pts.

rich ruby color. cherry reduction sauce and rich, seductive rasberries on the nose. cherries covered in chocolate on the palate. rich and soaked with black rasberry flavors. oaky, with just a hint of tobacco, and solid tannins, which save this from being too much of a jam-bomb. there is a dense and spicy finish. this is a darker, denser pinot that needs decanting or a few years. 14.8% alcohol.

Opened not decanted. Dark black cherry and cola notes. Alcohol level is a little high for me with a sharp, dry, acidic finish. Good, but does not appear to be a long term ager.

Decanted 20 min. Black cherry, blueberry and oak on the nose. Lots of fruit on the palate especially black cherry. Floral and mineral overtones. Nice smooth finish that lingers for a good while. Just a touch too much alcohol at the end. Overall a very beautiful wine.
