Wine: 2000er Weingut Müller-Catoir Riesling Trocken Gimmeldinger Mandelgarten Kabinett Pfalz, alc 11.0%. Moderate clear yellow. Nose has a waxy nature with a whiff of petrol. Still has good acidity Palate is lemon/lime with some early secondary characteristics ( not abnormally oxidized). The sweetness borders on almost Spätlese It did great with the heat of the dish

Hedonistically creamy. An effective but invisible acidity. Honey and young healthy fruit. It has some baby fat to shed but it's not fumbling around, it already has some grace. Would love to try this through the next few years.

To those that ho-hum the vintage I say no - there are exceptions. This is continuing its evolution to maturity but not quite there yet. Delicious to the last drop and actually has time ahead if you are seeking full maturity.

popped and poured. color light golden. nose aromtatically secondary riesling. on palate, this has RS in perfect harmony with acid, and a slightly tart medium length cheek coating finish. really nice tonght. again could probably last but doubt there is an upside to waiting. yum.

color pale and greenish, showing some age but still very fresh, lower perceived acid and sweetness

Popped and poured. Cork perfect. Color golden. Nose with waxy cinnamon apples and a hint of TDN. On the palate the acid comes first and the mid palate has some ripe Riesling fruit. There is good balance between fruit and acid which keeps this light on the palate esp during med length finish. Given the acidity this will probably last awhile but I plan to drink mine during the next year or two. corked half the bottle and stuck in …

The oldest riesling in my cellar. Straw colored, nose is a little musty, herbaceous, flinty, citrus blossom, and maybe a little honeysuckle. Palate is very well balanced with petrol, honey, kind of sweet/sour apple candy thing, and a hint of lime. Delicious. After being open for 2 hours - turned a darker golden color, more intense on nose, quite a bit more fruity on palate including ripe pineapple and more floral honeysuckle. Much longer in the mouth as well and …

Wonderful riesling. Nice fruity nose with traces of petrol. Nice fruity blast on palate with pineapple, almonds and finishes very dry. Love it. One of the first Germans I bought way back when and I sure am glad I let a few age.

seems very kabinett like; less rich than recent wines tasted; this was a good thing; plenty of acid...

Opened at a garden jeebus with Terry Theise and 25 friends. Yum. Terry thought it was important to open this (or, was he just jonesing again?) -- I thought it could go another 3-5.

I honestly do not know where the "not enough acid" comments come from. Give this wine a little air and it is completely ready to go with a finishing kick of acid that cleans everything right up. It's actually a little rich for kabinett, but it's just off dry, fruity and finishes long and strong. I think there are any number of folks who expect a German Riesling to tear their head off. But it's all about balance.

Lacks enough acids. Very disappointing.

Dinner club at Steve & Barb's house. With appetizers on the deck. Light gold in color, this was a very good, but not great, wine. Probably a statement of vintage as much as anything. Peachy fruit and a light to medium body. 50+11+11+7+7 = 86

Sweet but with good acidity. Notes of pineapple, clementines and peach nectar. More full bodied and unctuous than we expected. Balanced and cut through the Wasabi well. A good but not great wine (perhaps we are too spoiled by the recent 2001's we have tried).
