Raised cork, signs of seepage. Ullage inside neck. No sieving required. I get similar impressions to other TNs. I have had 2 bottles of this wine in the last 4 months. Garnet colour, some opacity. Brett animaly nose, something feral in plain sight. Flavours are somewhat coherent, noce maturity, probably drinking at peak a few years back but very enjoyable. A rustic wine for sure. The tannins are still at the fore. Drink up 13% abv

Tempier masterclass (Basement, 67 Pall Mall) : magnum. 80% Mouvedre from sandy soils in front of the domaine. A touch more animale. mellow and nuanced maturity on the nose. A little flatter on the finish. Lacks the mid-palate vibrancy of the 2005s. (*)***

Needed about 45 min to blow of the musty nose and then it showed lots of fruit and [still] firm tannins. After about 2 1/2 hours in the glass it was starting to loose its body and started to become flat... Drink it soon! This wine was from a 375 bottle.

9 Blind Mourvedre : The nose had red berry, baking spice and tree bark aromas. As soon as someone said they smelled tree bark, someone guessed that this was a Tempier. I haven't tasted many Bandol wines at all, so I didn't know that was a tell for the region until after this tasting. The palate had spicy red fruit flavors, earth and some heat. I would not have guessed that this was 16 years old at all. I thought …

In the mood for Tempier - and after first two surprisingly disappointing bottles ('91 Cabassaou and '95 Migoua [see TNs]) - I pulled out this '93, as I thought it would do the trick... Although the nose was somewhat reluctant at first, with aromas of smoke and spices, with an hour or so of air, it began to reveal more fruit and perfume. After two+ hours it was showing so much more than when first opened. In the mouth it …
