Stellar. For a domestic (USA) Riesling, this wine drinks very closely to a classic Mosel Auslese. At 12 years old it is alive and well and has transformed into a golden, hedonistic gem. Not overly sweet, but definitely sweet enough to balance the acid and bring a richness to the wine that is irresistible. I would love to blind taste this against a few German greats and see how it fares. My prediction would be pretty well!

Drank with friends as a dessert wine. It's a bit bold solely as a sipper, both in sugar and acidity, but I appreciated the zing it still had 5 years post vintage. 89-90 I enjoyed this more than a 2012 Sineann Willamette Valley Riesling, though perhaps the vintage difference accounted for that. I forget the vintage, but it was a fairly newly released WV vintage years back (and its incredible acidity) that turned me on to Peter's Rieslings.

When this was release, Peter said it was an "Auslese" style and that is true. Expect some real sweetness but not cloying. Light gold. Great nose with some pineapples, bits of peaches and a bit of minerals. On the palate, there is sweetness but a good amount, for Oregon Riesling anyway, of acidity. It balances nicely. Full bodied texture. This went great with fig, Goat Blue Cheese and Arugula pizza.

Very light straw color; honeysuckle and pineapple on the nose. Grapefruit segments covered with granulated sugar on the palate. Lots of residual sugar, tending towards auslese style.

Sineann Block One Cab (02 -12) plus some others (My Home) : Screw capped. Light golden in color. The nose has lemons and slight mineral notes. Slightly sweet. Young. Somewhere around "Kabinett" ripeness. The finish turns confectionary lemon which is distracting. No hurry here though.

I bet this improves a lot. Reminds me of the 03 which is fantastic now. Someone said Auslese in style, perhaps, but to me it drinks more Spatlese. Golden in color. Nose is very nice with lots grapefruit and some minerals. Sweet, not super sweet not cloying. Nice texture. Nice acidity. Screw capped I am laying a few bottles down.

44 year old vineyard made in an Auslese style. Candle wax, beeswax, waxy, rich across the palate, lots of glyxeriol (of course) and then finishing very powerful with its acids.
